    1978-79 rosters for anyone interested

Ok, so I'm currently working on a full 1978-79 season roster. If the limit on CAPs is 200, then I should be able to create 9 players for each team that was in the league at the time. Tonight I uploaded my progress to 2kshare. Here's what I have so far.

All 22 teams have their starting 5 complete with ratings, ages, etc. I'm currently fixing potentials. Once I finish that, I will make Bench players for each team.

I'm doing this for myself, and will be making draft classes going forward to essentially create a retro dynasty. I don't care if people don't like the work. I'm doing for my own enjoyment, but figured I would share if anyone's interested.

I haven't, and may not, fix player appearances, but based on formulas I've found, should have a pretty realistic sim roster set once it's complete. The Ike is saved as 1978 on 2kshare. Feel free to check it out.

For those that dont know, this is the time of Kareem, Moses Malone, George Gervin etc.

I plan on finishing out the rosters within the next week or so. At that time, I will start simming to see if the stats work out as I'd like. The ratings Im adjusting are

        Inside Scoring
        Close
        Medium
        3pt (based on career %)
        FT
        Passing
        Steals
        Blocks
        O-Reb
        D-Reb
        O-Awr
        D-Awr
        Durability
        and shot tendencies.

If anyone has good formulas for speed, strength, handling, defense, etc I would be glad to implement that as well. Also, if anyone is interested in adjusting player appearances, I would welcome that as well.

I should also point out, that I didnt create historical teams like the Sonics, San Diego Clippers, New Orleans Jazz, KC Kings etc. I placed those players on the current teams. OKC, LA Clippers, etc. The reason for doing this is because I want to build draft classes and create a dynasty leading to present day. Therefore, I chose to go with the end results. Feel free to create the historical teams and move the players if you'd like.

Just got back on to edit, and it turns out that while uploading to 2kshare, I guess the file was corrupted.? So, apparently after editing 110 of the 200 players I had planned, everything is gone. I'm beyond irate right now. Not even sure what to say. Gonna start over tomorrow.

Ok so I've restarted my creation of the 78-79 season. Go online and check it out so far. I finished the Hawks and Celtics, so you can use them to get a feel for it. Hawks are a pretty solid team, whereas the Celtics are absolutely god awful. Im playing a quick game with them now myself to see how I feel about it so far. Feel free to check it out and provide any feedback.

Sorry, lost some of the process. Back working on this roster again. Halfway done with the 22 team file. Every team is named up to the 200 player limit, which is about 9 players per team. The remaining players from each team were created as current NBA players with height and weight adjustments. I'm currently re-rating Milwaukee. Once I've done all rosters, I'm going to change coach profiles and adjust contracts for every roster so we can use these as a franchise. Once that's done, I'm going to create the 1979 draft class, then we'll be ready to go.
