Welker, Talib, and Vollmer are the big FAs from NE this year. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out since it's unlikely they'll be able to bring all three back.

I would be thrilled if he landed here, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Reed will draw a lot of interest in FA and the Pats usually don't land the big name FAs.

Corey Dillon, Brandon Lloyd and we even have to include Albert Haynesworth (big name no matter what he actually did for them).

It's a myth that they don't get big named players. They don't overspend for big named players but that 18-1 team was stacked with big named guys they brought in.

Randy Moss was a draft day trade.

Junior Seau was coming off back-to-back unimpressive years in which he was injured. He also retired before coming here, I don't think he was drawing a ton of interest.

Rodney Harrison is a good example, but that was 10 years ago.

Adalius Thomas is the best example.

My point is NE rarely outbids teams for the top FAs, they set a price on a player and if someone goes over that number they move on. I expect we'll see a few teams interested in Reed and if he's going to take less money to play somewhere I think Baltimore would be his first choice.
