Madden NFL 13 Roster Update Details - Post-Super Bowl, Available Tomorrow

The Madden NFL 13 Post-Super Bowl roster update will be available tomorrow morning for Play Now (Online/Offline).

    Some notable updates:
    • Justin Smith -1 (96)
    • Joe Staley +1 (96)
    • Aldon Smith -1 (94)
    • Ray Rice -1 (94)
    • Joe Flacco +2 (93)
    • Vernon Davis +1 (92)
    • Ray Lewis -1 (90)
    • Anquan Boldin +1 (90)
    • Michael Crabtree +1 (90)

More than 100+ transactions and player rating adjustments went into this roster update - which focused primarily on removing players from IR and updating team depth charts for the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers, who squared off in a memorable Super Bowl XLVII.

Baltimore QB and Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco saw his rating increase two more points to 93. The latest boost caps off a stirring postseason run by Flacco, who began the playoffs rated 87 but increased six points after throwing 11 touchdowns and zero interceptions in Baltimore's four wins.

Jacoby Jones also saw a big-time increase, rising three points all the way to 81. Jones got behind the 49ers secondary in the second quarter on a 56-yard touchdown reception, and then opened up the second half with a 108-yard kick return to put the Ravens up 28-6. The return was the longest play in Super Bowl history.

Despite falling short of the title in just his 10th career start, San Francisco QB Colin Kaepernick received another one-point boost to increase to an 89 overall. Kaepernick threw for 302 yards and rushed for 62 more while leading the 49ers back into the game after being down 28-6.

Some of the biggest movers on the negative side are San Francisco's HB LaMichael James (75 to 74), OL Jonathan Goodwin (82 to 80), and DL Justin Smith (97 to 96). Baltimore OL Michael Oher also saw a one-point decrease to 81 overall.

if EA is really concerned with having accurate rosters, then I'm sure they've moved Ray Lewis to retired, right?

You don't retire Ray Lewis because the Rosters are supposed to reflect the 2012 season.

I don't know what Colin Kaepernick's individual ratings are, but 89 is WAY too low. He is so accurate it isn't even fair.

Why bother still having rating changes for teams only in the post-season? Once the regular season ends, ratings should be fairly accurate enough to leave it alone while EVERY teams players has a chance to actually project their real life counterparts. EA's focus is always on the wrong things.

Closing this after an unnecessary thread bump.
