Good role players in NBA 2K13?

I have an association on fantasy draft and I've had multiple good role players that end up wanting to leave.

I'd really like suggestions that have low salaries and won't leave if we get like the 6th or 5th seed. Ones that can take the starting spot, but aren't stars and maybe some players with high potential (70 or above).

For me, Xavier Henry's a good role player. I've had simulated some seasons on a FD after drafting Henry 5th and he became a star player. 82 OVR which is pretty high for a guy starting on the early 70's in OVR.

J.R. Smith wants lot of money and he doesn't have that high of a potential so when he hits 30, he can most likely get left out in FA.

Jamal Crawford is also a good role player, but he likes to be a starter and have like 34 MPG. He's old at the same time, so you can't use him that much.

In the previous seasons I've had with the Bulls, 'The Tajmanian Devil' Gibson always wants to get a higher role like a starter. He is a good role player, but I think he has a potential that's too high.

Jason Terry is pretty good, a good G that can fill up the 7th or 6th spot... but he's not really that guy who is consistent on a game-to-game basis. Y'know what I mean? And he's got like 2-3 years left. 4 years if you're lucky and you're taking care of him a lot.

Patty Mills is a good player. One of the best in the game, they say. Tried it out by playing the Spurs. 2 seasons in, he's gotten better. Having 79 OVR. Downside was, he's wanting $10M, a starting spot, and he gets sluggish most of the time. I've played him, and I could just say...

Xavier Henry is really the best role player I can ever play in association, no doubt. Doesn't want to leave the team after 5 or 6 years in and doesn't have that high of a contract. He has approx. only $8M in 5 years. Which is pretty small for a guy that's 82 OVR. Which is pretty much worth it. Other than paying $14M for inconsistent centers like Bogut. But still, $13M is not worth it for a guy like Horford. He's a good rebounder, but other than close range shooting... he can't light it up from 13FT beyond. Which sucks.

Any other suggestions that I can use in my association?

Royce White won back to back to BACK 6th Man of The Year awards for me in an old association. Could care less for that guy, though. (also won Most Improved and 6th Man in back to back yrs in an Asso where he played elsewhere)

Marshon Brooks - you are welcome (please try him, frickin MJ, IM NOT KIDDING, you upgrade him and he feels MJ-like. I have MJ in myteam. Brooks is 84 OVR in an Asso of mine and I use him no different from Jordan....it's cray)

Royce is perfect if you sim a lot. Brooks is absolutely the Man, if you play your games

edit: I just noticed your Nets sig......maybe you already know

Yeah, the problem with playing the Nets in association is that you will not use MarShon most of the time. I know he's a good role player, but he is not used most of the time. Only because of Joe Johnson. I'll try going on a Fantasy Draft then trading for MarShon mid-season.

And yeah, I've heard some good things with Royce White. But I think with Royce White, I'd rather have him as 7th because some other weak role players want a higher position, which is c r a p p y thanks to 2K. Just hope they'd update on that one, because it's too fake for a guy with a 69 OVR wanting to be 7TH man over a guy with a 75 OVR. That's just weird if it happens IRL.

Yeah why the hell do the nets not use Brooks much irl? They cut his minutes by a third this year cause he's not starting. He should be playing a 6th man role like JR. He's talented and probably could score 15 off the bench if they actually player him. Something else ridiculous is how the nets are trying to acquire Ben Gordon, it's like you already have a great sg on your bench! Use the damn guy!

        Anyways, try getting Jordan Crawford.

Kenneth Faried. People are recommending scorers and thats cool but you NEED utility/hustle big men in this game, especially on the higher levels like HOF were the CPU keeps getting offensive rebounds on you.

Demarre Carroll is a great mid range shooter, athletic, and a decent defender. Cheap contract too.

Courtney Lee is the ultimate role player in this game. 72 overall with spot-up shooter, interceptor, corner 3pt and scrapper. He can hit 3pt shots, is great on defense and can get you steals as well, rebounds well with his scrapper and awesome vertical. 27 and also has some potential left.

JJ Redick and Martell Webster are good solid shooting role players. But depends whay you at are after, i would look at Seraphin or Booker if you are after big men.

Gordon Hayward (backup sg on Utah Jazz) and Tyler Hansbrough (backup PF for Pacers). Hayward has a great J, 3 ball range, and his length allows him to play solid D. I think he has pretty good potential too.

Hanbrough gets rebounds and plays solid D. He also has a decent J. In a 3rd year association he has and 83 mid-range.

If you need a PG for one season, try and get Andre Miller from the Nuggets.
Floor General, Dimer and Ally Oop! He's a 75 OVR, decent defense, great passer! Can't shoot a 3, he's 36 and has a weird jumpshot. I'm running with the Hornets in a online association and he's been great.

That could happen. But having a big contract on a great SF in Wallace, doesn't really think it could happen. Joe and Gerald are approx. 31 years of age. Gerald will probably retire in his mid 30's along with Joe Johnson. But that doesn't make sense. If you really like to keep one of the youngest, best role playing shooting guards in MarShon Brooks, I think they'd have to let go of some players.

And if you will recommend Wallace in the PF, Joe in the SF and Brooks in the SG, that's most likely not going to happen. Just because I want my Association to be realistic and Wallace is approx. 6"8' which is really really undersized for the big man spot. He'd get bullied by guys like Ibaka and Jeff Green.

So you really can't do much in that Nets' roster. They're falling apart right now this season, not getting as high as you'd expect and Deron's playing a bad season. He's not even an all-star. Lopez beat him to it!

In a few years, Johnson will probably retire at 34, because he's not that athletic as he used to be and he's getting weaker now being a shooter instead of the old Joe with the dunking skills.

As well as Gerald Wallace, probably one of the best dunkers I have seen in the early 2000's with the Kings... Man. The Kings were my favorite team and with a good role player in Wallace in his few new seasons with the Kings, that was absolutely spectacular. Nothing else you can say about that.

Deron's approx. 28 and MarShon is so young. He's probably 22 or 21.

I tell you, Deron will no longer be the Deron with the nightly double doubles with a rating of 90. He will probably be like Kidd; Getting a 76 or somewhat.

And if you look closely, MarShon has GREAT potential. It is really a waste of not using him. He's like a Jamal Crawford with not the greatest handles, but a good spot-up shooter IRL.
