Im lucky to make 2 3ptrs a game now and clank countless midrange shots.

The timing on holding R-stick for jump shots is significantly longer in this game than in past games. I had to go into practice mode to get the timing down for jumpers on my favourite team.

I personally think the timing is way off and it's much too long. There are animations where I can literally see my player coming down from his jump and I let go to release the shot and it tells me I'm too early.

I feel like the opposite happened in 2K13; I have a lot easier time shooting on the perimeter, but driving to the basket is a lot tougher than it used to be.

I'm fine with it for now, as long as its not like I DON'T MAKE ANYTHING like before CHRISTMAS, Im fine with it. I bet it's cause of the competition. But then again, I kept on bricking with LaMarcus with timing that is like easy to ace. But that was just one game, I'm sure it'll be better for me tomorrow.

yes, the shot timing on this game is horrible!! i release at the top of the jumper per each players shot and most of the time the shot is in the yellow. dosnt matter if im standing still or a moving shot. this game has gotten worse since NBA 2k8. that was the best in the series and that game even sucked. but it was more fun. i cant speak for 2k9-2k11. why are sports games so bad! its like their selling me the same crap year after year with NO improvements. madden included.

what slider should I change to help offset the shot timing ? i read that it can be bc of hot zones? so now i need to watch my fav team on TV and remember all their hot zones??? thanks 2k

you playing old school top of jump release 2k, new 2k is top of SHOT release meaning.... once the shooting animation starts the ball will stop at a certain point before it needs to be released, find that spot and your jumpers will go in if ratings are good.

well for one the timing and animations are different between offline and online (theres no like coming down from your jumpshot if you hold shoot too long online), but im like the only person in the world that seems to complain about this. Its like some backwards lag compensation system.

I use x I think its more accurate. The jumpers are more intuitive using x. I'm cconsidering using the shot stick for posting up though.

I play with "Real Player" and once I got my timing for that down, I had a game where suddenly I couldn't hit ANYTHING...

Checked my gameplay settings and found out it somehow got switched to "Shot Stick Timing"...

I switched it back and all was back to normal...

So:

Something in your settings may have changed unintentionally...

I know what you mean, but that's the way it worked for me...

Couldn't hit ANYTHING with "Shot Stick" after playing with "Real Player %" for a s long as it's been an option...

Still not sure how / why the setting changed randomly, but it's not the first or only time that's happened...

Ergo, the suggestion that OP check his settings, etc...

i mean.. u said u got the 'timing' down for real %... i was under the impression that timing is irrelevant to that option.. while timing is everything in shot stick
