Mugshots?
I was wondering what the developers are doing with the in game mugshots. So far I've seen a mix of photos and computer generated mugshots that even include guys who were about to make the cover of the game, so obviously they have real photos of them available that they could have used.

Re: Mugshots?
There will be a mixture of photos and generated pictures this year. This will become more evident in franchise mode or as players move teams in the real world. This year the devs have changed the process so say if Sabathia begins as normal at the Yankees it will be his normal player photo. Should he be traded to say Oakland a computer generated mugshot of Sabathia in Oakland cap/colours will be produced - this is so we don't see players that are moving teams in their old team colours etc.
The majority of players (at roster cut off date) will have their correct real life photo, but should they move from their default team this will be replaced by their in game computer generated mugshot in new team equipment.
Hope that helpsDedicated member of the CPU v CPU worldwide brethren. -

that's been confirmed? Awesome! I've been wanting it to be that way for a couple of years now. There will be a mixture of photos and generated pictures this year. This is really awesome...so players in the free agent pool who get moved to a team wont be wearing the default "MLB" hat?We play today, we win today, das it!-

Re: Mugshots?
I think it happens anywhere....but I seem to remember seeing at CD that in the roster editing screen....the photo remained and in game it "updated" to a generated shot.
I can't remember it that was the way it's going to be or they were still working on it though.

When you say "computer generated" does that mean the animated character models we've seen in the past, or will the game actually replace ones ball cap on their actual picture. I'm hoping for the ladder.I think it happens anywhere....but I seem to remember seeing at CD that in the roster editing screen....the photo remained and in game it "updated" to a generated shot.

Re: Mugshots?
The computer generates a picture of the player ....with the correct hat and jersey.
It does not replace the cap.
It's "latter" ...just so you know.
You climb a ladder!

Re: Mugshots?
As I understand it, the first roster update at release will have (for the most part) actual photos.
If you trade any players from Team A to Team B, their real photo will become a generated photo with the Team B hat and uni.
However, in the weekly roster updates, any trades made in real life by MLB will be duplicated in The Show and the player photos will remain real photos with a hat and uni adjustment.Last edited by Curahee; 02-18-2013, 11:13 PM.Comment
