    NCAA 14-Fight Songs

I know there are copyright issues and so forth.

Does anyone know if NCAA 14 will fix this? Some schools like Texas and USC come to mind who dont have the proper fight songs.

probly not, fight songs have fallen way down the priority list for EA, which is crap b/c custom tracks have not been a suitable replacement for the real thing.

This is something I'd like to see get fixed in the next gen. I know Auburn can't because of legal reasons, but for other major schools to be stuck with generics (Arkansas comes to mind) is just shameful. Don't get me started with the drum lines at the lower levels, too.

After a while, I almost think it was a matter of not wanting to hire a band, and laziness. I mean, Western Kentucky has almost the exact same fight song as Ohio, but Ohio's is in the game and Western Kentucky just gets a drum line.

Well I know TCU, Texas, Arky, Baylor, A&M and Tech all got caught up in a situation with a company that was manging the copyright to their fight songs was going out of business and tried to charge EA five times the normal amount than before to try to save their company. I don't know if the company is still in business anymore, but I know Baylor University was not happy with how it went down and the schools actually own the copyright, but they let the company manage its use.

Huh! Interesting. I thought that control of them was through the universities themselves, not through licensing organizations and the like. I wonder if that has to do with the other fight song faux pas I see in this game, such as NIU's being missing, Iowa State having a version of theirs in-game that hasn't been used for 10+ years, etc.

            Well...

It wouldn't be a big deal since you can just put them in using Custom Sounds....

until this year when the entire streaming of and playing of custom sounds was nerfed beyond all comprehension and never fixed!!!

All the time have spent over the last several years building up my Stadium Sounds library and the entire feature was so buggy that it flat out didnt work this year. And it was never addressed in the patch either.

Such a great feature and EA completely dropped the ball on it.

What was the issue with custom sounds? All mine worked fine.

They work fine if the songs are on your HDD, but streaming the songs (which is roughly 1000 times better if you want to use tons of sounds) is very broken in '13.

I would love to have a separate slider for the fight songs. On my TV, the crowd noise drowns out much of the sounds from the bands. I know I can do custom sounds, but I am lazy.

I remember being blown away by the fights songs way back in '03....great atmosphere.

Don't you get sick of hearing USC's Fight Song as it is? Seems like it's the only song the band knows sometimes j/k

Related to fight songs, in addition to ensuring the team has rights to as many fight songs as possible, I think that if Tiburon were to go back and re-record all the fight songs they have rights to, it'd bring a breath of fresh air to the series.

Many of the fight songs have been the same since NCAA Football 2003. Ten years, we've been hearing the same take on the same tunes. It's a contributing factor as to why parts of the game feel so tired and stale, IMO.
