All theses little tips and tricks come from playing the game against good opponent, trying to figure out what they do and how they do it and messing with the controls in practice mode. A lot of you might already know all this but it might be helpfull to some others.

The left stick
The left stick is the most important thing to understand when it comes to NBA 2K13's dribbling system. If you don't understand how you should use it, you probably find moving around the court difficult and really unresponsive at times.
Two important things to master with the left stick. The quick crossover and the quick behind the back.
_Executing the p'n'r as ballhandler and mastering the quick crossover:
The screen is on your left, so naturally you go left with the left stick. But as you can see you get theses slows side steps that you probably know are also delayed. You feel like your feets are glued to the ground. At no point I'am dangerous or putting pressure on the defense and I'am also extremely predictable. The P'n'R basically didn't create anything. That's where the quick crossover comes in really handy.
See the difference? Instead of hitting left with the left stick you go up to left. You do a quarter circle from top to left very quickly. It's like you initiated the free movement instead of beeing locked in the direction of the rim. It allows you to change direction very fast.
_More P'n'r:
_You can also fake the P'n'r:
_Fake the fake:
_It can be used in a lot of situations like on a fastbreak after an in and out for example:
_Executing the p'n'r as ballhandler and mastering the quick behind the back:
It's a little trickyer to do than the quick crossover. What you're gona do is go from up to 1 quarter circle and a half to the left very quickly. If you go too fast or all the way to down, you'll do a stepback move. Go in freestyle and practice. You'll figure it out.
_Example of the use of the quick behind the back on a P'n'R:
Discovering and learning this really changed the feel of the game for me. It really opens up your game.
_The launches:
In order to launch properly from any move with the right stick you're gonna have to have the turbo button (RT on xbox and R2 on ps3) pressed at all time.
To do this right crossover to the right and left launch you have to press the right trigger, do a simple crossover to the right with the right stick and then launch left by going left with the left stick. Pretty easy but very effective, against either humans or CPU.
_You can launch from any right stick move... A between the leg for example:
_To be less predictable you can for example branch the between the leg launch with a double between the leg + between the leg cross like this:
To do the double between the legs (wich I've discovered like 2 hours ago), (all this is camera relative assuming we're using 2K cam) with the ball in your right hand, you have to go bottom left to top right pretty quickly. Don't wait till it plays out, just do it.
There you go, then it's your job to branch the right moves at the right time and be creative, wich is definately the hardest part.
Have fun.
