    NBA 2013 Season Awards Race

We got a month and half to go left so who you got? and Why?

    I have....

    Most Valuable Player: LeBron James

    Need I say more?

Rookie of the Year: Damian Lillard

Pretty much the most consistent rookie the whole year and he's been outstanding for Portland through out the season.

Sixth man of the Year: Jamal Crawford

You could make a case for a few people to win this one but Jamal to me has been the 2nd best player for the Clippers this year. Deadly outside shooting and the go-to scorer other than CP3 down the stretch.

    Most Improved Player: Greivis Vasquez

13.6 ppg, 9.4 ast and 4.5 rebs... terrific numbers for a guy who was suppose to be the backup point guard behind Austin Rivers this year.

Defensive Player of the Year: Joakim Noah

One of my favorite players, He's the heart of that Bulls defense that has been one of the best the past few years. His hustle and tenacity is undeniable, this year he has the numbers to backup it up averging 11 rebs, 1 stl and 2 blks per game.

Coach of the Year: Greg Popovich

Just like LeBron, Pop just gets it done year after year. You can't deny success.

    MVP: Lebron
    ROY: Lillard
MIP: Larry Sanders, nobody outside of Milwaukee knew who he was last yr. Now he leads almost every defensive stat, leads nba in blocks per game, total blocks, block %,& league leading 36 games in a row with a block shot & counting, also a bunch of other crazy stats like degending the post, etc

DPOY: Larry Sanders (Stats prove it)

    COY:Popovich

        MVP - LeBron James

ROY - Damian Lilard (Although Waiters had a terrific February, if he does the same for the rest of the season, I could see him taking it.)

        6th man - Jamal Crawford

        DPOY - Joakim Noah

MIP - James Harden (I know his numbers just look much improved due to minutes and more touches, but same thing happened with Turkoglu, he simply just had more minutes)

        COY - Popovich

Most improved: Larry Sanders or Jrue Holiday

Defensive player: EASILY Larry Sanders. Not only does he do all the things that were already mentioned here but he only plays 25minutes per game and still gets those numbers!!

His per 36minute numbers are nearly 5 blocks per game and over 8 defensive rebounds per game! That's more defensive boards and more than double the blocks Noah gets with 38minutes per game! Not even close.

How is Larry Sanders in terms of one on one defending the low block? I have him on my fantasy team so I know all well what he does statistically...

MVP: LeBron, if he can finish the year shooting as efficiently as he is now. If not, then Durant.

MIP: Larry Sanders. Not much to say about this one.

ROY: Damian Lillard. Most consistent rookie this year. Anthony Davis could've been in contention, but he's been injured throughout the year.

6th man: 3-way tie in my opinion between Jamal Crawford, JR Smith, and Gordon Hayward. Each of these 3 guys are the focal points of the offense when they come onto the floor.

DPOY: Another 3-way tie between Larry Sanders, Tyson Chandler, and Joakim Noah.

Coach of the Year: The Celtics can keep winning they way they have been, then Doc Rivers. If not, then it's a toss up between Popovich, George Karl, and Lionel Hollins.

If your'e gonna do a three-way tie for 6th man, Jarret Jack should be in it. I still say this award is not so logical but whatever.

Larry Sanders is #1 in defending the post I believe, & is #1 with forced missed shots at the rim, meaning the shots he doesnt block still are misses at a very high rate. I agree its not even close at this point IMO Sanders for DPOY,

Damn I didn't know that, is that a statistic I can read somewhere? If that's the case, it would be hard not to say he deserves it but someone with a bigger name will get it i.e. Chandler or Noah

Forgot about Jack. Dude is playing great this year for GS. One of the main reasons as to why GS got off to that hot start.

Great article and certainly makes a great case for DPOTY. He certainly is ahead of Joakim in terms of affecting shots but I think Joakim does enough in shot affecting, rebounding, hustle and being the anchor of that Bulls defense to be named for the award.
