It seems like every time during a transfer window phase my top player always wants to leave, even though his status said "Very happy" the day before. I'd really like to keep him since he's my best player, what's the best way to keep a player that wants to leave? Offer more money?

offer more money, make him captain, let him take pk's + other free kicks and praise him in the media when you can. all of those options help -

It may be too late for you now, however when this happens I save the game, then go forward a few days until the board sends you the email saying "the board will let you decide on this player" or "the board decides to sell this player".
Just keep reloading it from that save point until you get the email saying that the board will leave it up to you.Comment
