Hot and Cold Streaks

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I am fairly new to this forum so please forgive me. I have a general question about Hot and Cold Streaks on The Show.

Specifically, I'm referring to when the "fire" and "ice" icons appear next to your player. Are they simply identifying which players have been hitting well/poorly lately or are there actual stat modifiers in play? For instance, will a player who's on fire hit with a more generous timing window/drive the ball farther? Conversely, is it then more difficult for a player who's cold to time up pitches/hit line drives/etc.?

Its for people who have been hitting good or bad of late. It usually starts giving icons after the first month.

Thanks for the reply. So it's just identifying who's hitting well and who's struggling then. I wasn't sure if there was anything that changed your ratings - i.e. NBA Jam when you're "on fire" or "cold".

Was wondering this too. Does Hot or Cold streaks give any/take away stats in different categories? does it have an ingame impact or just window dressing? In the other game it hugely affects things probably too much, raising and lowering players Overalls but it does add an element of lineup management

It effects the attributes. Hot streaks gives a boost, cold streak will see a drop in ratings.

Generally, the hot and cold icons show up towards the end of April into May. After that, they change every two weeks or 10 games (from what I've noticed).

Are you sure about that, I was under the impression that it was just an indicator of who was hot or cold, but didn't actually affect any attributes. Maybe a Dev can confirm this.

No problem. Yeah it just shows there performance. It may boost attributes over that course. Not exactly sure.

Does the CPU teams players also go on hot/cold streaks and does it affect who they play in their lineup in franchise?

it's very subtle, but there is a contact bonus, penalty attached. The feature was added in 08.

Yes, the CPU gets on streaks and if you are going to play a game against someone that is on fire, they could have a good game against you to keep up the good streak. What do you mean by affect play in lineup?
