In real life, State Farm donates something like $18,000 to charity for every gold ball hit during the real Home Run Derby. Wouldn't it be cool if they allowed us gamers to contribute to this as well?
Maybe make it something like 1 penny for every gold ball HR hit in the HR derby during this major league season. Or if the want to shorten the lifespan of it, maybe say $1 or 50 cents or something for every gold ball HR hit during the real life all-star break. Obviously they would have to work with SCEA to figure the economics and statistic analysis about tracking how many online HR are hit during a time frame to figure out how much to award to each HR, but I thought it would not only be a cool way for State Farm to donate, but for gamers to feel NOT ONLY closer to realism in this game, but to make us feel warm for being able to contribute to a good cause.
I, for one, would DEFINITELY be playing more Home Run Derby if I was able to help donate someone else's money!

Hah, just kidding.
