MLB 2k13 "My Player" Mode

Has anyone noticed any changes at all in "My Player" Mode compared to last year?

Anything? Or is it completely untouched?

not really IMO. I mean sure they could have made a few tweaks, but overall, Ive always thoroughly enjoyed this mode and am glad they stuck to the "if it aint broke, dont fix it" approach.

So all the goals that are failed because the AI batter behind you, the lack of stolen bases, the fact that fielding starts at 50 and takes forever improve, and on and on? I love My Player mode, but there is no way this didn't need improvement.

failed goals because of the batter behind you? I see this on occasion due to a strikeout or something, which is fine. Not really sure what the big deal is.

Lack of stolen bases? you mean for user or CPU? True, I never see the CPU steal, which would be a good tweak(which I said this mode could use). For user, I get alot of steals.

Fielding starts at 50? Ive never really paid attention to where it starts, but as a CF, fulfilling my fielding goal to get called up was one of the first ones I got.

Game modes always have room for improvement - especially a mode like My Player.

i didnt say it didnt need anything. I said it could use a few tweaks. My point was that the core gameplay is pretty well done IMO, and doesnt need messing with too much.

Countless times the "Hit N Run" goal would come up when I was on first and the batter would either fly out or not swing at the first pitch and the goal would fail. The point is, you have no control over the CPU playing like a turd, so why are my goals depended on them?

I stole constantly too. I loved playing the SS position and never once did the CPU attempt to steal second. It may not be a big deal to you, but it really takes a lot away from the game for me.

Same here, but it would have been nice to show up to the Bigs flashing some real ability in the field.

None of them were deal breakers, but this mode could have definitely used a lot of love and something that was more than just adding points after every game.

from my experience, it gives a good mix. Sometimes the hit and run will work, sometimes it wont. It shouldnt work every time.

I play CF, so the lack of CPU stolen bases doesnt really affect my position, but yeah, this is something they could have tinkered with.

I guess that's just another difference between outfield and infield.

I made a thread about it, but the lineups/batting orders are so out of wack.. the one real complaint I've had about 'My Player' .. since you can change the order in other modes to actually set it how it would really be, the other modes aren't that bad, I'd like to make it realistic in My Player.. my CF for the Twins hits 5th.. bats .245 or so currently with 2 home runs.. Justin Morneau bats 9th in this game

Morneau is also rated very poorly in this game so that could have something to do with him batting 9th

While I understand that, they have other Twins, like Trevor Plouffe so far over-rated.. at the same 79 overall that they have Morneau.. and in my 'My Player' season.. Plouffe has 32 home runs, 100 RBI, 76 runs scored ..and struck out 138 times.. 5 players have well over 100 strikeouts. Starting to think 2K has a love affair with Joe Vavra, who was re-assigned from the Twins hitting coach spot so them stink

Since the issue has come up in the past.. I'm just about done with my 'rookie' season.. and with the next season coming, where, or how do I get season goals set? Never did find that in 2k12 nor could I fine an answer to the problem of not having season goals.

You don't qualify for season goals until your second season I believe.
