Do you actually think there is anything in NBA 2k13 that makes a player a ball hog?

NBA 2K13 has many things that can makes single player more aggressive with certain behaviors(rebounding, scoring, defense, blocking) but it doesn't. I want to play against a player who is aggressively going to do a certain thing if it is in his attribute or signature attribute.

I use CPU vs. CPU to see how close to a player plays to their real life self. I also use CPU vs. CPU to see if I'm going to get the effects from a player I set up for them. I just want players to react accordingly and have some life to what they will and might do with their overall make up.

    Player like:
    Dennis Rodman-aggressive rebounder
Kobe Bryant & Allen Iverson- Ball Hogs
    Dikembe Mutombo- aggressive blocker

    Nope,

This is something I think 2K will never be able to put in the game. I think the NBA won't allow them to put negative stuff in the game.

    Shot selection would be great.
    True bout my business, Mane!

Why would this go against something the NBA would allow? They should at least give fans options to create these type of actions themselves.

Actually there is something that turns players into ballhogs...2ks completely useless playcalling logic. Maybe you've noticed things like Monta Ellis putting up 40+fga with default rosters...
I've tested how the CPU calls plays pretty extensively, and instead of using touches to distribute usage% in a nice way, the game is hardcoded to call plays based on some ratings nonsense.

An example...with OKC having touches scaled from 50 (Perkins,Thabo) to 90 (KD,WB), in a full game I'v seen the AI calling more than 60 plays for Durant, only 15 for Westbrook and not even one for Sefolosha. This makes absolutely no sense according to touches. I regret that I actually paid for a product that does not work as advertised

So yeah, there are ballhogs hardcoded into the game. Has been that way since 2k11, but with adding Jay-Z and golden menus there have been other priorities to work on.

I saw Monta Ellis with the aggressive scoring, but I have yet to see true ball hogs. One who refuses to pass. You can't even create a ball hog with ratings, attributes, or signature skills.

I get your point, and based on tendencies it's hard to shape the game according to personal taste. But on the other hand, with shooting/attack maxed out and passing out set to 0, players should jack up many shots without passin too much. Have you tried this already?

            Basically:
            Shooting/attack basket/pullup set very high
            passing out to 0

Hopefully 2k fixes gameplay mechanics for 2k14, there's so much potential untapped in favor of presentation and gimmmicks.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been messing with this game so much I don't remember. I'll see if I have it set according to your suggestions.

EVERY TIME I play Allen Iverson he gets me for 30-40 and he shoots almost every time he touches it no matter who's on him even LeBron..... So idk what you are talking about

What I'm saying is when I give a player created or not the same rating, signature skills, and attribute they don't act or react like a Monta Ellis or Allen Iverson. I want the producers/developers to give us something definitive to create a scoring machine or ball hog. We don't have this right now at all.

I disagree, with the touches and shot tendencies, you can create a blackhole.

So let's say you have a player like Wilt Chamberlain or Jordan. They should have a something from keep them from being scoring machines? Are you saying a selfish or scorer shouldn't be aggressive in trying to get points?

I agree with this, I was about to post that I wasn't sure if it was because I started my sliders from the casual base, but in a playoff matchup using Jordan's Bulls against Iverson's Sixers, he was absolutely a black hole. I could double him and then user control a guy at him too and he would still be putting shots up and driving relentlessly into the lane. So there is something in there that will make it happen.

I would also add J.R. Smith to the list. Every time I play the Knicks that guy is a shooting machine. So I guess we would need to compare what some of these guys have in common in their tendencies, etc and I'm sure there will be some mix of traits that will be similar.
