Rated 99 Rookies
I'm in the 9th season of my RTTS career and I've noticed a worrying trend. there are alot of 99 rated rookies hitting the leagues every single season. These players are in their late 20's to early 30's and are all 99 rated rookies. Here's the top 4 in homers in the NL in May (there were 11 99 rated rookies total in top homers list).Tags: None -

Re: Rated 99 Rookies
Here we go with the knit pickin. I just proved myself wrong. How many people gonna come correct me? I know who pedroia is and I knew he was over 158 when I posted that. Ok it's possible, how bout move onto the topic of why the leader board is filled with 99 rookiesComment

Re: Rated 99 Rookies
Mel Ott was 5'9 170 and hit over 500 home runs for his career. Joe Morgan certainly had some pop and was 5'7 and 160. Your height has absolutely nothing to do with your power. Driving a baseball is primarily based on leg and hip strength. Good Upper Body strength is required but the majority of the force behind the swing is from your legs and hips. No offense but Your statement is Ignorant

Re: Rated 99 Rookies
One thing I do see with these 99 rated players is that all of their attributes arent filled completely... even though there 99, it doesnt mean theyre 99 in every category... so I dont really mind it but it could be a problem say 5 years later when the real 99 rated MLB players (Kemp, Braun, McCutchen) plus these players here and then whoever becomes 99 rated afterwards come together... then there would be a ton of 99 rated players... luckily I dont play that many years in lol
Jurickson Profar 6'0" 165lbs... not to far off, and he homered in his first MLB at-bat lol... but he's gonna fill outComment

Re: Rated 99 Rookies
No need to list every player who is close that hits homers. Since every one listed is over 158. If someone wants to give me the last guy listed at 158 to hit a homer I'd be glad to hear it. Listing guys 165+ is rather unrelated if you ask meComment

Re: Rated 99 Rookies
It's the abundance of these 99 rookies that worries me and their ages, it's completely unrealistic. If a player was good enough to be 99 as a rookie, then why the hell has it taken him so long to hit the majors? I counted 15 of these over both leagues, via the homer list only. That's not including the 95-98's that were there too.One thing I do see with these 99 rated players is that all of their attributes arent filled completely... even though there 99, it doesnt mean theyre 99 in every category... so I dont really mind it but it could be a problem say 5 years later when the real 99 rated MLB players (Kemp, Braun, McCutchen) plus these players here and then whoever becomes 99 rated afterwards come together... then there would be a ton of 99 rated players... luckily I dont play that many years in lol

Even people like Joey Bats who broke-out real late had stints in the majors long before then. these guys are coming in as rookies at the 27-32 age range, fully developed without having any service time up to that point.Comment

Re: Rated 99 Rookies
Im just goofing, but I know it can get frustrated when you say an innocent comment and everyone jumps on you for it...
Alright everyone, let's get back on track with these 99 rated players...
Another point to bring up about these is, in past games players wouldnt normally progress this quickly but this year they are... There has to be some sort of middle ground because a lot of gamers play 1-3 years in which this would be great because you get to use your prospects sooner rather than having then sit in the minors...
But, then theres the gamers who play/sim 5-10+ years or whatever and have this kind of problem with a ton of great players...
So I can see the problem but I also see this as pleasing more gamers...
What to do... what to do... hmmmm
