How many games of your franchise do you play?

How many games of your franchise do you play, and how many seasons do you normally get through before next release.

I play every single MLB game, and am lucky to get through 1 season. How do you guys do it?

1. I sim once myself or the cpu take a 5-0 lead
2.I sim games where teams are 10 games below .500
3.I usually have a big lead in the division so I sim the entire september schedule. Doing all this usually gets me to year three of my franchise

I'm trying to play every game for the first season. A at game 47 at the moment. Will then play one game each series for the remaining years.

A good way of simming IMO is like this.

Pitch your #1 starter, then sim until your #2s next star. Then sim until #3 next start, etc. so you are basically playing one game and simming 4.

Or if you want to play more games do it like this.

So you are playing one game then simming the next two, then play another then sim the next two etc.

You would need to sim 5 games, not 4.

Yes you are correct, I meant sim 5 games. What I was thinking was play one out of every 5 games, so you are simming 4 out of 5. Its late on the east coast lol

I play all 162, no simming no fast-forwarding.
Last year I got through 3 complete seasons in about 6 months time.

I play all 162 games or I should say I try too. If the game freezes mid game, I will usually sim the game it froze on instead of playing it again. That happend one time, but I just did a mid game save so no big deal.

I like to know all the stats are mine, and do not like to sim cause of that. I have finished a 162 game season in other shows and lost in 5 games in the WS. Nothing worse than playing every game, and not winning the WS. This year I am 15-7 with the A's. I am really enjoying this team, there stadium sucks, but I enjoy the team. They have some good young pitchers.

Not sure how i am going to handle it yet but with 160 odd games i know i won't play them all.

I used to play every game in my NHL,NBA franchises , some years i would do multiple seasons and some i wouldn't even finish one. The main reason i started simming was because there would always be 1 or 2 stats that would always finish along way behind league avg. , nba2k13 is off rebounds for me and with MLB 13 TS i think its going to be BB. So simming about half my games keeps most of my stats around the league avg.

The only sports game i still played every game was madden but haven't bought it for a few years.

edit: When i started playing nba2k games i changed to 12 min qtrs to keep mins played correct, if they had accelerated clock so i could play less mins but keep the stats real i would have got thru many years.

My 'system' is pretty un-scientific...

I usually start off by playing the first 5 games of the season. Then I will generally pick one game per series to play and sim the rest. I just look for good matchups or a pitcher that I really want to face.

The only time I may play more than that is if there is a series with significant impact on standings (ie. a team I am in a race with).

I don't get to play too much, so this usually gets me through a season in a reasonable amount of time...If I tried to play all the games, I'd never finish.

The system my buddy and I use is division opponents you play 2 games no matter if it's a 2 or 3 or 4 game series.

Anyone else is a one game minimum but other then that we sim.

We try and mix up which pitchers we use so we can see and use them all. When it gets closer to playoff time and if the games are meaningful I might start to bump up to every game in a series for a division opponent and two for any non division opponent.

Helps get through a full season and still play a ton of games at the same time. So right now in my franchise my team is 6-3 in April and I've played four games so far with the method.

This is my first year in The Show, after 3 years in 2K's MLB. I played all season there, so I intend to play all 162 games this year as well. I'm in my third game in Spring training, with a 2-1 lead for the Yankees.

I use a play 1 sim 5 system. Thus going through my rotation one after the other.

To me personally, each to his own, it's essential for me to get through the years in any franchise mode. The fun part of a franchise for me is bringing in young talent and building a dynasty.

Thus playing every game in a baseball game is pointless to my requirements as after 162 games (if I get that far) I'll be worn out and will probably puke at the thought of having to start another 162 game season.

With the play 1 sim 5 method I don't get unrealistic stats in BB for instance, but playing 27 games a season gives you some influence in overall stats at the end of the season.

I play anywhere from 40-60 games. I try to play one game a series. I start to play more games near the end of the season if I can help my team make a playoff push. If you play 100+ games a season, I'd imagine you can't really enjoy the depth of Franchise mode. I am going to try and do at least 3-5+ years. I want to see how the prospects turn out of the Cardinals.
