    Byron Steele

That is all. Those of you who have drafted him, you know what I'm talking about. Discuss.

Was a Top 10 in my draft taken by the Cards. Great hands and mobility. Can't protect or block a lick.

      Re: Byron Steele

I'm currently on his draft class. All the chatter seems to be he's a one of a kind TE.
I actually think I've lucked out because I traded for the Panthers 1st round pick at the deadline (giving up a 2nd rounder and an expiring contract guy that I wasn't going to resign). The amazing thing is that the trade must have jinxed the panthers hard. They went 2-8 for the rest of the season and what was looking like a 15-20 pick has turned into the 3rd pick!

So, I fear that Steele will definitely be taken 1-2, so should I trade up for him?

How good is he compared to other guys you could take that you could build up?

In one of my saves he was taken by the Browns at #1. I played the Browns in my first game if the season.

He cought 2 TDs and had 9 or 10 catches. I couldn't stop him!! Didn't look at his ratings though, but he seemed like the real deal!

Wow. Maybe I should trade up from 3rd to 1st just in case!

I had to trade up to #2 overall to grab him. Well worth it. He is absolutely unstoppable. Out runs every linebacker, and usually breaks the first tackle attempt of a corner/safety. I'm entering his 2nd season and he's already a 92 ovr. Great blocker as well. A must have.

Maybe he came out differently in my CCM, but he had 70+ run block and impact block as a rookie. Definitely above average for a receiving TE.

Brandon Boss and Ruckus Cage are good as hell too. Very similar

In an interesting turn of events it appears that the Panthers pick I traded for was in fact the 2nd pick not the 3rd! Despite them having the same record as the Lions. Good for me.

Anyways, it gets even better. I figured now with the 2nd pick that trading up to first for Steele would be easier. But I remember from HC09 that during the draft the selecting teams 'needs' were displayed, along with likely picks. Seeing as that doesnt show on M13, I went into the Dolphins (1st pick) personnel and realised they had signed Dennis Pitta in the offseason as their starting TE. I wondered "what if now they don't take Steele?" so I let them pick and they chose a CB!
With my pick next I knew I was taking Steele, but just out of interest I looked up the 'trade down' offers and noticed the Lions wanted to move up from 3rd to 2nd. They were offering the 3rd pick, the 35th pick and their 2014 1st rounder. Curious, I went into their roster and noticed they had signed Martellus Bennett as their TE but had a glaring need at LT, so it made me think they wanted to move up for Elliott Prime. So I made the trade and sure enough they picked Prime.

I picked Steele with the 3rd overall, but really, it looks like i've made out like a bandit.

Traded Pitta (and my 2nd rounder) to the Panthers at the deadline for a 1st rounder than turned into the 2nd overall pick. Turned the 2nd pick into Byron Steele + 35th pick + Lions 2014 1st rounder.

I can't wait to unleash Steele upon the AFC.

He traded Pitta during the season and Pitta left Carolina to go to Miami in the offseason, not that hard to follow.
NFL: Houston Texans / Carolina Panthers
                      NBA: Indiana Pacers
                      MLB: Cleveland Indians
                      NCAA: Purdue Boilermakers
                      NASCAR: Ryan Newman

One day, Purdue Men's Basketball and Football will become relevant again.

Exactly. Pitta being the striking young man that he is I can only assume he felt he would enjoy Miami more than staying with the Panthers. Whether it's stupidity on behalf of the CPU or not, I traded Pitta because I knew I wasn't going to resign him, and I guess the Panthers ended up getting nothing out of the deal except my 2nd round pick.

Now all I hope is that my wife is in a good mood, my kids go to bed without too much hassle, and I get to test out my Flacco - Steele combination in a preseason game this evening.

                          Steele is a beast!

In his debute game with for me, first play of the game...i throw a ball to him on a crossing route, but its too far ahead and its heading right for patrick willis's hands. Steele dives like superman and makes the catch before willis gets the pick.

he caught 21 passes for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns. However, I will admit I started to force the ball to him but that was after he already had 15 catches. He always gets open, and if he isn't he usually makes the catch anyway.
