I kick it full power at one of their players and just hope it bounces off him.

i think the tutorial thing says half power. just luck of the bounce, like it should be.

Actually if you hit the ball in the right corner about 3/4th of the way up at full power and it is money. Hits the dude and bounces around. I upsetted the number one user in my dynasty off of onside kick. . and I get the onside kick on teh regular when ever I need to use it.

What I do is I point it all the way left the arrow then kick it about halfway or just over and pray to get it. Works 50% of the time.
