    Does Ballpark affect results?

I'm not a show expert by any means, so I have a question...

In real life there are hitters ballparks and pitchers ballparks. Does this show up in the game?

For example, if I'm playing at Coors field should I expect more home runs than usual? Or is it strictly dependent on my player's ratings? Perhaps elevation isn't a factor but the dimensions of the field are? If anyone could break this down for me that'd be great.

    Thanks for any help.

As far as I know, dimensions play as big of a role as they would in real life.

They do but that's not really what he's asking.

As far as I know things like altitude and humidity do play a role and I believe it's been answered by a dev so maybe someone who knows where that was confirmed can post the link for you.

I don't have a link but I do second this, I recall seeing a dev saying this.

^ Third'd, I was there for that conversation as well.

Coors field is definitely replicated in the game. I'm not sure about the more questionable parks (where the effect of air density isn't as well documented), like Toronto or maybe Arizona.

And park dimensions are always a factor

The Show doesn't predetermine home runs. the landing spot is calculated upon contact and if that landing spot happens to be further away than the wall is... that's a home run.

So you'll always get more home runs in a smaller park than in a bigger one, over a big enough sample

I can't speak on Coors field, but I know I hit a lot more homeruns at Yankee Stadium than I do on the road. I play at Coors field for three games later in the season. I guess I'll see how it goes.

Some old quotes from Brian_SCEA (Dev):

Question: Does the ball travel farther in Coors Field due to the thinner air? I know my geek meter is pegging, but I was wondering if you guys put in air resistance in your equations.

It's great it is a factor in the game. Makes for such a realistic experience. Can't wait to really get into association mode.

Perhaps I'll draft a fantasy team with the Rockies

I just finished a game where I hit 11 HR in Yankee Stadium...I've never hit more than 4 in a game before.

I'm sure Yankee Stadium had something to do with it, but I think it may also be time to move up to the next difficulty level.

I get a ton of wall scrapers when playing there. Thats the only place that I have ever had Ichiro or Brett Gardner hit a homerun at. They barely clear the outfiel wall at the short poarch. Would be an easy out at any other park. Still the most I have ever hit in a game there is 5.

Something was going on...there was no wind either. Most of mine were long...over 400 with one at 461.

Yankee stadium usually finishes top 3 year in and year out for homeruns in real life. IIRC i think it is usually number one. I do remember a couple years ago when us cellular field (white sox) finished first. i dont remember the stats clearly but im sure if you are interested you can look them up.

Give some thought to the Reds and Great American Ballpark if your wanting to hit homers. Small dimensions and short walls.

Also go to park factors website. Has all the info you need to pick a stadium.
I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.

In terms of winning/losing effects, yes the pirates still can never win a series in Milwaukee

Some people say the thin air of Coors Field is in the game and some people say it isn't. I haven't been playing the MLB series that long (I am only in my 2nd season with the series), but as someone who chooses to play with the Colorado Rockies in this game, my Rockies players and the opposition tend to hit more home runs away from Coors Field than they hit at this ball park.
