dribble after or thru contact tendency

One of the main problems with 2k13 is the ability of ball handlers to dribble thru contact and traffic with no penalty. If 2k added a dribble thru contact tendency, this would prevent players who don't dribble thru contact and traffic from doing so while still allowing chris paul types to do such.

What do you think?

Players shouldn't be covered in baby oil PERIOD

are you talking about the animations where guys seem to slither under/around someone once they get touched

and things like making contact with the ball handler should make his dribble be picked up?

Re: dribble after or thru contact tendency

1) If a defender initiates contact with a ballhandler then that is a blocking foul and should be called such.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

2) If a ballhandler rams into a defender then it should be called a charge.
<O:p</O:p

3) The dribble after/thru contact tendency could be applied when the ballhandler is initiating contact with a defensive player who is moving his feet in a legal guarding position. This type of interaction happens on a regular basis in the NBA. An example of this happened last night as Lebron and Kevin Durant attempted to drive into, thru, and around multiple defenders without a foul being called. Usually the refs only call a foul on this type of "acceptable" contact when a shot is being attempted. <O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

2k is trying to create the "acceptable" contact scenario on their game, but it comes off wrong because they don't call the blocks and fouls when the defender or ballhandler is improperly initiating contact.

<O:p</O:p4) If 2k brought back the live ball then a high thru contact/traffic tendency/rating would give those players animations to avoid dribbling the ball off of another player, and to keep the dribble alive. Whereas a lower rated player would lose the ball in a crowd or dribble it off of a body.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

5) If 2k did not bring back the live ball then a high thru contact/traffic tendency/rating could again give that player animations to keep a live dribble, whereas a player with a low thru traffic rating would pick up their dribble as opposed to dribbling it off of another person or losing the ball.
<O:p</O:p

I am basically trying to find a way to prevent the over dribbling that is now in the game, and was attempting to give and get ideas on how to do that.<O:p</O:p

lower ball handling, raise on ball d, raise strength, raise steal success slightly.

the pick up dribble animation needs to happen much more, even when i bang into a big with 25 handle/security he just keeps going...i think ive forced 3 pick ups in the last 30-40 games

I agree that overdribbling is something I'd like to see reduced, but I don't think you could sell the game that you and I want to play.

Very, very, very few people would have the patience to learn how to play that game without 100 block/charge calls a game.
