    NFL Regular Season Simulator

Hopefully, we can generate some discussion about early predictions, and at the very least some of you can use this to have some fun. Here is what I got.

    (1) - Denver (14-2)
    (2) - New England (12-4)
    (3) - Houston (11-5)
    (4) - Pittsburgh (10-6)
    (5) - Baltimore (10-6)
    (6) - Miami (9-7)

    --------------------------------------

    (1) - Green Bay (13-3)
    (2) - New Orleans (12-4)
    (3) - San Francisco (11-5)
    (4) - New York Giants (9-7)
    (5) - Seattle (10-6)
    (6) - St. Louis (10-6)

-The NFC was super competitive, with Detroit, Carolina, Atlanta, Tampa, and Dallas all viable for playoff spots entering the last week of the season.

-The AFC was far less competitive, and many of the worst teams in the league (Buffalo, New York Jets, and Oakland) came from the AFC.

      With those records it'd be:

      2. New Orleans
      3. Green Bay
      4. Dallas
      5. San Fran
      6. St. Louis

There's no way the sim gave you those standings.

            AFC:

            6 - Washington 10-6

            Vikings also finish 10-6

I'm going to do this again in a few months.

A lot of these teams seem to be pretty much the same. Even St. Louis as a riser isn't the rarest opinion. Wonder when someone is going to post their standings with a really unheralded team making it to the postseason.

                AFC:
                1 - New England (13-3)
                2 - Denver (12-4)
                3 - Houston (12-4)
                4 - Cincinnati (11-5)
                5 - Baltimore (11-5)
                6 - Pittsburgh (11-5)

Indianapolis and San Diego were the only other two that came very close to the playoffs going 10-6 and 9-7 respectively.

                NFC:
                1 - San Francisco (13-3)
                2 - Green Bay (12-4)
                3 - Atlanta (11-5)
                4 - Washington (9-7)
                5 - St. Louis (11-5)
                6 - Seattle (11-5)

Chicago (10-6), Minnesota (10-6), New Orleans (9-7), New York (9-7) and Dallas (8-8) were all competitive for these spots too.

Worst teams in the league were the Chiefs and Eagles who both went 2-14. The rest of the AFC East after New England only combined for 10 wins.

Yeah, the NFC is going to be VERY competitive this year. It'll be fun to watch for sure. With the exception of Philly and Arizona, I honestly think you could make the case that every other team in that conference has a legitimate playoff opportunity.

That would mean you had just as many teams with records like 2-14 and 3-13.

                        That wasn't the point.

The point is that it gave him incorrect playoff seedings.

I thought he just mixed those up based on records, but then I did my own and saw that it did them automatically.

Ran through real quick, didn't give too much thought on much, so nothing is too out of the ordinary. The only real surprise team I have is KC making the playoffs as a 6th seed. Other than that it is basically same old stuff we saw last year for the most part.

                            AFC:
                            1. Denver(13-3)
                            2. Houston(12-4)
                            3. New England(12-4)
                            4. Cincinnati(12-4)
                            5. Indianapolis(11-5)
                            6. Kansas City(9-7)

                            NFC:
                            1. Seattle(14-2)
                            2. Green Bay(14-2)
                            3. Atlanta(13-3)
                            4. Washington(11-5)
                            5. San Francisco(13-3)
                            6. Dallas(9-7)

KC going 9-7 seems realistic. Alex Smith and Andy Reid might bring good times. I don't think going 9-7 will put them in the playoffs though.
