Singular Football Game
Someone said something in another thread that got me thinking. They were basically forecasting the end of the NCAA series with the coming lawsuit that will almost surely effect the bottom line for EA Sports. I just can't imagine college football going by the wayside in the video game world, but they are staring at some serious problems. After the lawsuit, most notably would be that they are the clear 2nd fiddle to Madden each year and never seem to have the resources or invitations of the bigger brother to compete in the football game market. So, if the NCAA brand continues to deteriorate, why not just combine the two titles and create one all encompassing football game and sell it for a higher price tag. I feel like with the next gen consoles right around the corner, this could be feasible with the RAM and memory requirements. Thoughts?Tags: None -
Re: Singular Football Game
The main reason i'd think would be because the NCAA & NFL are separate entities. Along with that EA would need to seek approval from all parties involved on certain aspects of the game and essentially it would cause too many headaches for EA. -
Re: Singular Football Game
There are a number of players who only want one, don't care about the other, and would be furious if they were forced to pay for both.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment

Re: Singular Football Game
I honestly think that no matter what happens to EA, there wil be a football game out there. Taking a look at NCAA Football right now, and its completely a monopoly. If we didnt like a certain thing about NCAA Football, where else are we gonna go? Back to a Previous version right??
Other companies are taking note for sure and are probably watching closely to what happens because its next man up for sure, based on the fact that NCAA Football is a monopoly.
However, I also think that it'll become a open market if EA goes under for it. Its gonna be an open battle-ground.Hook EMComment

Re: Singular Football Game
A lot of people just nit pick on the little stuff. Whether or not the uniforms are completely perfect, or whether or not jersey get dirty, or what ever. I know that it isn't prefect, and it will never be perfect. The way I judge a game is whether or not I enjoy playing the game by myself or against a friend or a stranger online(I have a huge rant about gamers today, but it's this isn't the board for me to do it in). Overall I have enjoyed playing the NCAA football series.Comment

Re: Singular Football Game
^ Agree. I don't pick at much in this game. I just want to have fun and win or lose if I do. Ncaa 13 wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. This year I think I will have fun.A lot of people just nit pick on the little stuff. Whether or not the uniforms are completely perfect, or wh//ether or not jersey get dirty, or what ever. Plus I think EA will try to hold out on the lawsuit for as long as possible. They will get NCAA 15 out, but after is questions on whether they want to continue or not. Only other company to pick it up would probably be 2k or ?????, Let's just hope it comes out good, I see EA has finally put some improvements and seeing progress. Hope they continue on into the next Gen.Comment

Re: Singular Football Game
Sorry but I gotta get this off my chest
A lot of times I see people say that the people here complain too much or are too negative, even going as far to say things like we here at Operation Sports 'don't like the game' and I just want to say that I don't see that as true at all. The ratio of people complaining to people complimenting the game is obviously 1 sides towards the complaining but that doesn't mean much the way I see it. First of all, considering EA Sports quality of football games most complaints are justified, but take a minute to think.. what are people more likely to post about? A nicely executed run play they pulled off or a glitch that happened? A hail mary touchdown or their dynasty freezing everytime they load it? The point is.. when the game works like its supposed to .. theres not much to say! People mostly only post when something goes wrong so other people can know about it and maybe there is a fix to it.
Not to mention the fact that if someone is enjoying the game a lot.. they are gonna be playing the hell out of it and wont have as much time to post as someone who rage quits every time the CPU does something stupid.Comment
