The Golden Age Roster by Sellaz32 and SHH4UA for Xbox 360 and PS3 Version 2.0

    Gamertag: Sellaz32
    PSN gamertag: pmyers79

IMPORTANT: Make sure you disconnect from Xbox Live or the roster will freeze in quickplay. This is due to coach edits and is no big deal really.

Acknowledgments: SPECIAL THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING:

Vlad Zola Jr. and his genius for creating RED MC.
PortlandBlazer's artistic genius. We used many of his CAPS ported over from his 2k12 work. His work is the gold standard in terms of player likeness.
VTCRB for his guidance and support...especially at times when I simply wanted to quit..lol
Vannwolfhawk and the hours he put into playbooks.
And to so many others who have directly or indirectly supported our work.

Our definition of the The Golden Age of the NBA is defined as beginning the year Magic and Bird entered the NBA until the Jordan's last year. This roster includes a collection of great teams from this era (1980-1996). (We decided to leave off some teams from 1997-98 because we felt they were not a good fit for the theme of the roster). If you have followed our work in the past, you know we put the extra time and effort in to insure not just authentic appearance, but authentic gameplay as well.

    Team list and roster details:

    1979-80 Boston Celtics
    1979-80 L.A. Lakers
    1979-80 Phoenix Suns

    - as accurate as possible jerseys
    - edited coaches and coach profiles
    - edited playbooks using Vannwolfhawk's Playbook philosophy
    - edited arenas
    - shoe and accessory edits. (I used best possible in game shoe substitutes, but I am sure there may be some better options)
    - all ratings and tendencies edited to reflect sim stat and gameplay accuracy.
    - full season mode compatibility.
    - sim stat accuracy.
OVERALL DOES NOT MATTER. Tendencies edited to reflect era specific differences.
    - edited signatures

As always is the case...there will be errors that you guys will find that I overlooked. Please just let us know and we will include them in the updates to follow. I am currently working on a season mode fix, but that may not happen for a week or so.

Since we only play CPU v CPU, we do not have a user slider set to share. But I have been told that the Trifecta slider set worked well with our 1987 roster. No reason to think that wouldn't apply to this set as well.

    Enjoy!

Sounds awesome, though I was hoping you guys would do another full season, still having fun with the 86-87 set.

Yeah..we talked about it...and MAY still do another one down the road. Thing is we already had a great deal of the work done on these other teams, plus we added some new ones to keep things fresh (82 Warriors, 82 Rockets, 94 Warriors, 97 Hornets). Not being able to do a true season mode without schedule problems was also a deterrent. Plus the season ideas I had (84-85, 88-89) still seemed so close to 87 it was like what's the point? There are already some 90's season rosters out there too.

OK, I hope you guys do do another one. Yeah, I haven't played in season mode, seeing the Bobcats and other teams made it feel unrealistic. Maybe 90-91? Magic's last year, Jordan's 1st championship.

IF Vlad gets around to updating RED MC and adds the delete function we can implement a true to life schedule in season mode which would eliminate the irrelevant teams. That will open doors to more season possibilities. Last I heard he said maybe in July.

This will be nice. I'd like to see 1st championship Bulls, but this will be nice.

Quick update: Teams through the 1990 Sixers are complete. Project is moving right along. Really excited about the teams on this list..especially some of the lesser known teams like the 82 Warriors and 82 Rockets. Also...for those who followed our Super 76 set: we are planning to do a 30 team 70's roster with 20 NBA and 10 ABA teams from our 2k12 set. Both projects to be complete in plenty of time to enjoy before 2k14 drops of course. Expect the same quality as our 1987 roster, but with many more teams.

It's moving along ok. Prepping for my daughter's 2nd birthday is taking center stage for awhile but I am still getting work in everyday. Still have to go through and update sig skills, dunk packages, and accessories. In other words...it will be awhile...

One thing I have learned though..and that is to take my time so I don't get burned out otherwise I start taking short cuts and the quality suffers.

                          Thanks for the interest!

Nothing of any substance to update you guys on. Only getting short pockets of time to edit lately. But it's getting there. I am very excited about these teams. Looking at the FIBA project got me motivated too. I just have to balance my pace. Roster editors know...it is easy to get impatient and want to cut corners just to finish..lol. But stay on me about it! I am more productive when I know others are interested in the finished product.
