I have to say it is. I switched over from the shot stick to the X button a few weeks ago, and I already see major improvements. Though, I have used it before.
If you find difficulty with the X button, then just go into Practice mode and start taking jump shots. That's all I did and I really did improve. Pick a team like the Pacers; Paul George has a beautiful shot which is easy to learn, while George Hill's shot is a little harder to master. -
Re: which is better botton or the shot stick
I use both, I have several playing styles. But there's one specfic playing style where I'll only take control of the star and shoot for him using the shot stick. But then I'll use the button for shooting with the star's role player teammates to make the game feel more realistic and random by forcing me to score within the flow of an offense and rely on others. Sometimes this playing style made me want to strangle teammates in Nba 2k12 but when it works it feels rewarding.Comment

Re: which is better botton or the shot stick
I use square button probably 80% of the time... any special shots including layups and dunks i use shot stick
i always always always use square for set shots or drifting shots/fadeaways
seems to work best for me
also i think using the shot stick for layups helps draw more fouls...especially jump stop layups***I used to put important things hereComment

Re: which is better botton or the shot stick
Button for jumpers, Stick for lay-ups and dunks, floaters, post shots, etc. But I use the button for free throws. Anyone else do this? I find it alot more simple than using the stick.Sixers/Panthers/Tarheels
