NCAA 14 CPU vs CPU Impressions
I know there are quite a few of us around that play sports games this way. Post your impressions of EA's latest college football offering here!F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Wooooo!Tags: None -
Re: NCAA 14 CPU vs CPU Impressions
I've been doing CPU/CPU games throughout a test dynasty with different sliders and playbooks.
So far my only major gripe is the lack of assisted tackles. I'm a week away from conference championships and my entire defense has maybe five assisted tackles total. Five of my defensive players lead the country in tackles and are up for all sorts of awards, kind of annoying.
So far I haven't found a slider combination that fixes it.Last edited by prowler; 07-07-2013, 06:14 PM. -
NCAA 14 CPU vs CPU Impressions
How's the game look on the field? Is the IE a major upgrade in what might be the last installment on this generation of consoles?
I think most of what I'm trying to find out is if it's worth it to spend the 60 bucks for those of us who play this way. I'm in year 3 in an NCAA 11 dynasty that I have no problem sticking with. Re: NCAA 14 CPU vs CPU Impressions
Well I don't have the game...but been doing cpu v cpu on the demo... seems to be really good. Option plays actually work realistically.
The lack of assisted tackles are due to the fact the game was built around 5 min qtrs. So IMO, The best way to balance that out would be...if you up the time (mins per qtr), then try lowering the tackle slider. That should create more tackles that "need help" so to speak. I also believe that threshold plays a factor in this but just a theory of mine that I'd have to testComment

Having not played the game, I think the lack of assisted is something that won't bother me too much. So long as none of the major stat categories that awards are based on are jacked I should be fine.F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Wooooo!Comment

Re: NCAA 14 CPU vs CPU Impressions
I am a CPU v CPU player since last year. I am praying the sliders work right to fix the super accuracy issue from last year. Hopefully not a major issue this year. It seemed on the demo it wasn't as bad, but last year they were broke in dynasty mode.Comment

Hopefully they fix this too, last year it seemed to work right.Comment

Re: NCAA 14 CPU vs CPU Impressions
I got word from carnalnirvana the other day regarding this issue. The QBA slider is the same as last year. It affects the velocity and trajectory of the ball...not accuracy.Comment

Now that I know what kind of gamer I am I can see saving a ton of money and advancing pretty deep in dynasties.
I used to feel detached from my team playing cpu vs cpu but I now see that's because I'd start the game then go do something else. If you actually watch them play you get just as immersed as coach mode.F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Wooooo!Comment

Re: NCAA 14 CPU vs CPU Impressions
Major cpu v cpu player across all games here, for too long to remember.
Couple of issues with NCAA 14 which I'm sure will be resolved in a patch:
At the moment you can't leave a game to play on it's own - there is a bug which sometimes kicks in after a TD which means you have to press a button for the XP otherwise there is a delay of game and the game just sits.
I noticed yesterday that the scorebug is emptied and the stats that pop after each play no longer show - this seems to be caused by a studio update in dynasty mode. Once you get another update it seems to refresh the screen.
Still tweaking with various sliders but the running game (and the option!) is vastly improved.Dedicated member of the CPU v CPU worldwide brethren.Comment

Re: NCAA 14 CPU vs CPU Impressions
Hi Quint, how are you doing? Yes my involvement in Madden has gone the journey since they dropped cpu v cpu in franchise - such a disgrace and it's still not back for this year's iteration.
As for the NHL series I'm hopeful that with the new fighting engine this year that the cpu will actually start a fight against itself. The past few version have had no fights in cpu v cpu mode and it's totally killed the immersion. I'm keeping my fingers crossed with that one for Sept - thankfully I've managed to purchase the US season ticket so can check this out before the UK release.Dedicated member of the CPU v CPU worldwide brethren.Comment
