The reason why people may be asking is because it is possible that they may still like 2003 over 2004. I am one of many who think that Madden 2004 took a big step backwards in the gameplay department. Yeah, so the owner mode is off the hizzy (or whatever today's youth says), but overall the game just does not play as well as last year's version.

It's a shame that modes and options take priority over gameplay. :(

There is always an overlap between versions, and while it was still possible to play online using 2003 recently whether you can still do it now I don't know. I do know however that come January you can certainly expect the 2003 servers to be decommissioned.
