NBA 2K14: Which console will provide you the better experience?
What's up OS members! From my experience with NBA 2K13, I believe Xbox 360 has the better experience when it comes to graphics and online experience. So I am actually not a huge gamer as I only play the NBA 2K series and NBA Live because I love the game of basketball, but which console would you suggest for the best gaming experience possible and why? What I am thinking of at this moment is the Playstation 4.Tags: None -

If [and only if] NBA 2K14 actually utilizes the potential of the Kinect for Xbox One or PS Eye for PS4, then either console would do it for me. I really want to be able to use my own face in the game, forget the unoriginal create a player molds of the past. This is the future of gaming we're talking about here. Heck EA uses Gameface already and it was pretty good. -

You're right. I remember using that Gameface feature on Fight Night Round 4, that feature is pretty good.If [and only if] NBA 2K14 actually utilizes the potential of the Kinect for Xbox One or PS Eye for PS4, then either console would do it for me. I'll be getting a PS4 this holiday season, but I think either next-gen console will give you a great experience.Comment

I'm waiting to see what the Kinect experience is gonna be like. They're talking it up big time and if they can incorporate it right it has big time potential. Otherwise it'll be just like before where no console has a clear advantage."I BALL FOR REAL, YALL DUDES IS SAM BOWIE."

Pretty impossible to answer at this point since noone has much of them.
They will probably be more or less the same, kinda like it is right now. What we know so far about NBA 2K14 - FAQ/QA:

Well, since the Playstation 4 is apparently more powerful and optimized for graphics, I think it's safe to assume that 2K14 will be better graphics wise on the PS4.
I'm getting a PS4 at launch by the way.Not changing this Sig til the Orlando Magic win a championship (Technically Started 1-30-08)Comment

Re: NBA 2K14: Which console will provide you the better experience?
The only difference between the two consoles is what type of RAM they're using and the amount of RAM allocated to actual gaming. We have yet to see how each console will allocate its RAM so the only thing we can go off of is the difference between them. PS4 = GDDR5 and Xbox One = DDR3. While technically the GDDR5 is faster it still needs to be used in such a way to actually take advantage of it's minute benefits.
Lets say each console splits up its use of RAM evenly and the only difference is the type of RAM used. Even then the potential difference would be incredibly hard to see in in-game textures and we most likely won't see that incredibly small difference until a couple of years into the console's life.
Basically, the only way one console will have any significant advantage graphically over the other is if it dedicates more RAM for gaming.
By the way, both consoles are "optimized" for graphic fidelity and gaming. Both consoles are video game machines first and foremost. While both companies are taking slightly different avenues with their extra features don't dare think for a moment one is meant for gaming and the other is not.
I'm personally going with Xbox One during launch because of its features, new Kinect, and HDMI pass-thru. With the HDMI connection I'll be able to run my cable TV or, lets say, Xbox 360 through the Xbox One and switch between all of my entertainment almost seamlessly. It'll also be impressive to see how game developers incorporate the use of the Cloud into their games. Also the Xbox Live team has had over a decade's worth of experience and continue to improve upon it.
Once next Spring comes around though I'll definitely be adding a PS4 to my collection. By then more of the games I'm interested in from Sony will start becoming available.Comment

Xbox One Has Gpu around the level of the Radeon 7790. Ps4 has GPU that’s around the same level as the Radeon 7870 (which is significantly more powerful than the 7790). The PS4 has 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, providing 176GB/s of bandwidth to both the CPU and GPU
ps4 gpu is much more powerful and efficient. Contrary to Ram being "the only diffrence between the two systems" ps4's Ram being much faster is only a small part of what makes ps4 the more powerful system.Last edited by kel16harris; 07-27-2013, 09:56 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14: Which console will provide you the better experience?
Won't know until they come out. The past few years I have liked 2k better on the 360 so thats the version I have always bought. I'm sure there will be a next gen system that I will like it better on too, but I won't know that until I have played both.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14: Which console will provide you the better experience?
It is probably impossible right now to know exactly which console will 2K14 will run better on, but I would assume it would be the PS4. First of all the PS4 is most likely going to be the most graphically superior console but also if I remember correctly NBA 2K14 was revealed at the Sony press conference at E3 not the Microsoft conference. So it would be safe to assume 2K14 will run better on the PS4.Comment
