    Number of scholarships?

Why am I only allowed 21 scholarships?

I'm in the first season of my southern miss dynasty and I'm pretty sure I started with 25 scholarships, I'm in the offseason now, 20 players committed but it says I have 1 scholarship left. I've only been able to recruit 3 and 2 star recruits so far and I have two 4 star recruits I'm trying to get but no matter what I do I can only get one or the other.

Any idea what's going on here?

Scholarships were taken away for NCAA violations.. Lol jk.. Maybe the CPU signed some ghost players that will show up in offseason? I notice a lot of times my team has freakin players I didn't recruit

      Haha that'd be awesome.

Also I don't think the players that randomly show up get scholarships. And I'm at a point in the offseason before those players show up.

Did you take on any transfers?

Also, those players who randomly appear as commits on Signing Day DO take scholarships. It's the CPU making sure you use all 25 scholarships for whatever reason.
        NCAA: Minnesota, Minnesota St-Mankato
        NBA: Wolves
NHL: Minnesota North Stars (undefeated since 4/16/93), Wild
        MLB: Twins, Dodgers
        NFL: Vikings
        MLS: Minnesota United
        Premier League: Manchester United

Shouldn't transfers count towards the previous year's 25? Like back counting.

Clarity: Since the transfers happen before NSD they should count towards that 25, not the upcoming season...Right?

The game doesn't work that way. If you accept a transfer it counts towards that seasons scholarship numbers.

Oh my god I forgot to reject the transfers.. Sigh. Well mystery solved, thanks.

I don't suppose there's anything I can do to recruit those two players now?

Did you turn off recruiting assistance? If not, the CPU will fill you up with worthless players who you dont want.
Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.

                      Re: Number of scholarships?

When you offer a scholarship the number of scholarships goes down, its not just when a recruit commits. For example, you are saying you had 20 commits but only 1 scholarship available? Maybe you offered scholarships to 4 other players.. that could be why.

I have played 20+ dynasty's over last 2 years. In all but 1 of them no matter my setting the CPU fills my team with players I don't want just to take up scholarships. However 1 time I somehow got it not to. I had 3 years in a row in a dynasty I think with Texas State where I recruited 12-14 players and the CPU never tried to use up my extra scholarships. I don't know what was different, I could not see anything different but any help to be able to not get all that filler on my other dynasty's would be nice.

I had considered this but I don't think it works that way, because I had 3 uncommitted recruits with a scholarship offer, I removed one and it still said 1. Also, I always have to keep track of how many offers I've sent out because that number is based on offers accepted.

I'm pretty sure it's because I took on transfers. The math works here too because I think I took on 4 of them.

I think if you turn recruiting assistance off, the AI only signs players on the signing day, when it's clear you're not gonna use up the rest of your scholarships yourself. But if you have it on, it'll sign them during the season by offering scholarships.

On my Texas State dynasty the CPU never signed a player to my team. If I signed 16 players I had 16 new players, CPU did not add even 1 player. 12 years at Texas state and not once did the CPU sign someone. Then I left Texas State for Illinois and at Illinois CPU started signing players. I am currently playing as Rice and have to wright down the names of every CPU signing so I can cut them.
