Franchise Too Easy?
I usually do a franchise with the Cardinals and it has just been to easy. I don't play all the games (barely any) and I will get a streak of about 3-5 World Series titles and I will just have to quit. I have injuries on and i still do great. I have tried rebuilding the White Sox, Astros, and Marlins and I will still easily succeed. I don't want to seem like i am bragging but I am getting really bored. Is there anything I can do to make it harder or more interesting? -

Find better sliders and highet difficulty level. Check mine out in the sliders forum. They are very challenging. Also I would suggest 30 team control so you can make sure every team had realistic lineups throughout the season with injuries.
Play more games! The game gets harder sometimes from just playing more. You'll experience hot and cold streaks and see how hard the game can be. -

Don't take this wrong, but as a Brewers fan the Cardinals have one of the best teams and have one of the best farm systems so of course it's easy.I usually do a franchise with the Cardinals and it has just been to easy. Re: Franchise Too Easy?
First, don't take advantage of the game's faulty trade logic. For example, the Marlins are rebuilding so they realistically would not give you Yelich and Marisnick for an aging veteran.
Next, use auto-scouting. Doing it yourself gives you an advantage over the CPU.
Finally, use auto-training for the same reasons.Comment

Re: Franchise Too Easy?
This is actually easy to fix
1) raise the sliders until playing .500 ball is challenging and maybe even a little frustrating
2) play with a bad team (or a good team, but raise the sliders to offset). If you do sim a ton of games, the sliders won't be able to correct for a stacked team though, so you'll need to play more games and sim less to make this work.
3) use restrictive house rules. For example you can't trade at all during the 1st year (or can only make 1-2 minor deals) so you're forced to actually play with a bad team. So many people do a rebuilding chise, but do all the rebuilding before the first game, lol. There are all kinds of house rules regarding payroll, not cheesing trades, and auto scouting. Be as hard on yourself as you need to be to make it fun and challenging.Last edited by WaitTilNextYear; 08-02-2013, 08:09 AM.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: Franchise Too Easy?
he's said he gets on runs of winning 3-5 world series and he mentioned about 3-5 teams in the OP, i cant think how it would be possible to get through 25 seasons without simming the majority of those seasonsComment

Re: Franchise Too Easy?
I don't really play the Franchise aspect. I have OOTP 14 if I want to delve into that. But if I had to jump through a bunch of hoops to handicap myself to make it such that running a franchise isn't too easy, then I'd stop playing. Where's the fun in that? The franchise mode is either capable of offering a challenge or it isn't.
I say this having no idea if it the difficulty setting can be tweaked to up the challenge. But if it can't, the OPs post is reasonable.Comment

I really like what you said IrishSalsa, "play more games". I am not sure how many people who say game is easy. When they simmed over 50% of their season. I can rest assure you will experience the ebbs and flows of 162 game season if you physically playing each and every game.Find better sliders and highet difficulty level. Re: Franchise Too Easy?
I play the first and last games of every three and four game season series. And play both of any two game series. When I added it up I will play 102 of the 162 game season. I suggest at least do this. You can see how my season is going from my signature below. Its def not easy! Fun and more immersive by playing that many.I really like what you said IrishSalsa, "play more games". I am not sure how many people who say game is easy. When they simmed over 50% of their season. Re: Franchise Too Easy?
Has anybody else encountered the Dodgers/2B trade glitch? I can get Puig and Hanley Ramirez for Ryan Theriot. Almost any 2B is incredibly valuable the the Dodgers. Another thing that I noticed is that teams never go into rebuilding mode anymore. I don't know why. They are always "Normal" or "Playoff Push." I play as the Giants and I try to trade for Alex Rios and the White Sox won't accept Kyle Crick, Gary Brown and Andrew Susac, when realistically they would gladly take Crick or Susac in a straight up trade.Comment
