    Zone Def Aggression question

When playing as the OC, I was under the impression that editing the coaches aggression ratios would STOP the CPU from automatically putting the DBs in a Aggressive Zone Coverage. Apparently not?? I also read that Varsity level was the only level that didn't have this glitch. Apparently not as well as I checked that last night. SO, is there any way to stop this from happening? I was hoping that GLITCH would be fixed this year so the DBs aren't constantly stepping up and getting burned for both my team and the CPU.

Any info would be great, thanks! I've looked everywhere on here and can't get a straight answer

I don't know how to "Stop it", but:

I'm using a roster based on Oreaon's adjusted AGG values...

On AA, I've changed sides / switched controllers to the CPU team and check that setting...if it's not "Balanced", I reset and back out...

Usually about 3-5 times per game...

I've found it set to Aggressive most often, Conservative second most often and have even seen it still set at Balanced...

I'm not sure why I'm seeing an "assortment", but I don't feel like it's on as often as assumed...

Might be those HC / DC reductions in AGG kicking in?

    Interesting, nonetheless...

Ya, I implemented his rosters and edits as well hoping that would work. But, no, same BS as usual. That glitch continues to screw the whole game up.

Seems like its an AI thing. I came out passing 10 straight times...when I went to look after that, it was set to conservative. I left it there. Went back and ran the ball 4 times in a row....went to check, and it had flipped to aggressive.

Varsity with OPI and DPI at 1 gives tight coverage, good players can beat bad players. I have started making sure to check stats that impact a play when something happens, like having my OLB miss an INT. That is something that happens regularly, but his passing totals were right at the bare minimum of 65, which I can understand.

The CPU provides tight coverage for his team as well?

Yea that's what I meant; from my controlling the offense standpoint, those help tremendously, as they give more competitiveness.

Yeah, those AGG adjustments are to limit the 6 to 8 man Blitzes the CPU likes to send, which are easy to exploit...

I also use custom D Books for the CPU, that I took the majority of the "not so smart" blitz plays out of...

                Works REALLY well...

This might be a silly question, but how do I get the CPU to use a custom playbook. I tried playing a game just now...selected a custom playbook for the CPU team...then went to my teams and set the playbook I wanted. When I started playing, I noticed the CPU was using a 3-3-5 D, not the custom 3-4 I made. Also, how would you do it in Dynasty play? Thats the main question

You can change in the coaches profile.

Tried that. Changed both the DC and HC's profile to the custom 3-4 in my dynasty...when I start the game, theyre running the basic 4-3.

You have to use two controllers and assign Profile 2,3 or 4 to the CPU team...

When you advance to the screen that has the books in it, simply assign the custom book to them...

                        You'll see it load, etc.

(Unfortunately, the second profile can't change the CPU teams Uniform choice, but I digress... )

Handel the coin toss / set whatever adjustments you want to the CPU and then:

Pause Screen / Switch Sides / Put 2nd Controller in Middle / Back out / you'll be prompted that the change won't take place until the current play ends / Hit R1 to "Sim" play / Hit Circle to Back out of Sim Screen and:

You'll be left with only your controller on the screen and ready to kick or receive...

At that point, if I shut off the 2nd controller and if I want to slide over and check their adjustments in game, I just use mine, repeating all those steps to switch and switch back by cancelling out of the sim screen...

It's kind of hard to explain, but it takes moments / becomes second nature and WORKS!

LOL!! Thanks for explaining it all out. I'll be giving it a try here shortly.

Just a theory. Has anyone tried to turn DPI down to say 25 or 0 and look to see if the ZDA stops happening? I would say DPI would be why the ZDA happens. Just a theory. I do not know what plays to choose to try this out. I have taken 4 Verts out of my playbook. If someone does some testing let me know what you find. I would also suggest putting computer PC on 70-75 if not higher.

defense pi at does not create tighter coverage the db's actually play off you more and its more like a zone, with the pi slider up higher they play tighter, but if its up to high they might get burned on fly patterns because i use zero threshold make the game much more realistic that way
