Honest question, if winning is just more fun or, if you honestly don't get a challenge even with the sliders adjusted that's cool too I guess.

Difficulty: Do you want tough games or not care?
I find myself scoffing at some peoples dynastys that are posted here when I see mid major teams or bad BCS schools beating up on high powered schools like USC or Notre Dame. If your team is rated 10 or less overall vs who you're playing you shouldn't be winnning on a consisent basis. Maybe once in a while but if you're playing as an 80 overall school and your record is 8-4 at the end of the year and almost all teams are better than you, what's the point?

Difficulty: Do you want tough games or not care?
I want my guys to perform the way they're rated and if rated poorly then I expect a challenge to win games. But, I don't want difficulty for the sake of having difficulty if my talent level doesn't warrant it.F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Wooooo! -
Re: Difficulty: Do you want tough games or not care?
Well, I look at it like this: it's a college football sim, so I want to have games and seasons that rival their real-world counterparts. That means accepting th fact that a C-USA team or MAC team can go almost undefeated (although not as highly ranked as in the game), 1-AA teams winning (App st vs mich), defensive struggles involving defensive-minded teams (SEC, BYU, TCU, etc), and of course high scoring. It won't come as close to the real thing, but it's a video game, and I hardly care once the season gets going

I like it to feel real. If I have the better team then I expect to win. If I have the worse team then it should feel like a challenge If the teams are close then the games should feel like a battle. I like to have 2 games a year I really have to play perfect to win and 3-4 games a year where the game could go either way.Relax, it's just a video game!Comment

I play in an OD on Heisman with like 9 others. I went undefeated in year one, lost 2 User games (NC) year 2 and I'm 10-0 in year 3. I'm tired of killing the computer teams but some of the guys in the dynasty struggle with computer teams so I'm in a pickle. I want a bigger challenge. UCLA first 2 years and at Oregon now by the way.Comment

I play on Heisman and can't beat teams in the 80s for my UMass dynasty. I just stay away from cheap money plays (4 verts, read option every time) and attempt to play with a sim strategy.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Spread offenses= more points. It's happening in the nfl too, so I want higher scoring games. Ncaa avg was almost 30!Comment

Re: Difficulty: Do you want tough games or not care?
I like difficulty, personally. I want to feel pushed to win, and feel rewarded when I do.
At the moment I've got some good sliders, but with QB Accuracy on 5, my low 80s QB can't hit anyone regardless of how open they are. Very frustrating, might have to change that slider to 10 so I don't throw something out the window

I like having tough games. It makes them more rewarding to win when you do happen to pull the upset or win a close game.
I try to keep the stats as realistic as possible and mix up the the play calling. As soon as I start blowing out teams I have no business blowing out I immediately start looking at slider adjustments.
Having said that, I think I've gone as far as I can go with NAVY dynasty I'm running that I'm trying to keep as realistic as I can. I went 7-6 my first year with them. But this year I'm 10-0 and ranked #1 despite having a C- schedule grade to start the season. A lot of upsets in the dynasty. 5 of my wins are with a margin of less than 10 points. I basically robbed Norte Dame of a win. They out gained me by 250 yards had over 500 yds of offense but they threw two pick 6's while they were in my red zone that helped me win the game.
I'm on all-American for offense due to playing on Heisman level the DE/Read will always chase the B back on the tripe option. I have house rules for my self that I can only ask coach on offense and can only run 4 verts one time a game. I do have it on Heisman for defense which I think is perfect.
Defiantly when I start my real dynasty I do every year with Vandy I will grab some sliders to make the game a little tougher. It's such a fine line on getting realistic results and being challenging at the same time.Comment

Re: Difficulty: Do you want tough games or not care?
I think it depends if you are an online or offline player.
If you are competing in ODs against others, I'm sure most players wouldn't mind winning every game regardless of their school.
But as an offline player, I definitely want a serious challenge. There's nothing like losing a game and ending your Championship aspirations. Or grinding out a 6-6 season.Comment

Re: Difficulty: Do you want tough games or not care?
I actually have two different dynasties. One of them is a 'realistic grinder' and the other is for when I just want to stupid video game numbers.
I get joy out of both of them, but sometimes it's nice to out my brain on cruise control and play easy games.Comment

That reminds me of my Illinois dynasty. We're 2-2 and just lost to Miami of Ohio 38-35 after being down 28-0 at one point.I think it depends if you are an online or offline player.

This is going to be one HELL of a season lol.Comment
