Can a non-conference champion make it to the NC?

I'm in an OD where the #2 ranked team won't get to go to their CC game because they lost to Alabama and Bama hasn't lost in their conference. Is their any way (in this game not real life) that a team that isn't a CC gets to go to the National Championship? Or would the next highest CC leapfrog them?

I'd imagine it would play out like the real BCS where as long as said team is in top-2 they're in but I could be wrong.

Yes, in my most recent year in Dynasty. Florida played South Carolina in NC and neither won the SEC. Florida lost earlier in the year to Alabama and South Carolina lost to Georgia. Alabama played Georgia in the conference championship, but neither made it to NC. So I had 2 non-conference champions make it to the NC

Well that blows. Not all that surprising though. Hopefully another 1-loss team can leapfrog them after winning their CC. Thanks for the info guys

Happened in real life, so why wouldn't it happen in the game?

I, as a 2-loss Tennessee team in year one, did not win the SEC East and ended up winning a rematch with Alabama in the BCS National Championship: 14-13 (I also had given Alabama their only loss earlier in the season 42-14).

So yes, it is definitely possible.

Well not everything that is in the game is in the game, but if it's in the game we shouldn't be surprised that it's in the game.

It happened in the first year of my online dynasty too. I pounded Bama in week 3. Then a new user took them over and ran the table with them. So I got to pound him in the NC.
