How do they come up with projected rankings?

So I'm in year 1 of dynasty as Georgia State. I'm 7-3 and my ranking is like 50th or something but my projected 2014 ranking is 126th. What is this based on? Projected overall team rating? Will it improve if I recruit better players?

You're ranked 50th because that's how high the CPU judges you team to be, and judging by your future rankings compared to your current one, you're overachieving vastly. So you were right, the CPU expects your team to be horrible in 2014. Strong recruiting won't help your 2014 rank because chances are, you won't land a lot of immediate impact guys. Strong recruiting will help you in 2015 and on.

recruiting will greatly change your projections for the future

I took over an Oregon team that was 50/65/44/52

I then had the #1 recruiting class, and went 12-2, it changed to where I was in the top 20 in every year, with the 4th year as high as top 5.

for the current year, its just a nice way to look at where teams are ranked beyond the top 25 during the season.
