Why would you ever buy a Varsity pack?

For 5000 coins you get 2 silver cards and 6 random cards.

However, the basic pack at 2500 gives you 1 silver card and 5 others. Wouldn't buying 2 of those be better than 1 Varsity pack?

I don't know about that 2500 coin pack, but the Varsity pack gives out Silver Mascots. That's about the only reason I can think of. Silver mascots have a decent sell rate on the auction. As in, nobody buys Varsity packs, so they don't flood the market.

Ive received a Cocky (SC Silver), Joe Bruin (UCLA Gold), and a gold OSU Beaver from the basic packs

How about the fact that some of the "Gold" Mascots only give you 50 coins when you collect them. I think Joe Bruin is one that only gives you 50 coins back, while Silver mascots give you 100. Makes no sense.

For some reason all of the newest mascot cards that EA released are only worth 50 coins to quick sell. Which sucks, and because of that it has hurt the gold mascot cards market. Silver mascots sell for way more then golds. Should be the other way around

Silver Collectibles are just more rare. Only way most get them is from a Gold Upgrade Bonus pack.

Same way with Gold and Silver cards in general. As we saw the the Hightower, Silver cards are just much less common. There will always be pretty much any Gold card available to buy. Good luck finding some of the Silver ones. Either folks have them stashed not knowing they have something of value or they did a quick-sell and dumped the card altogether. If you have a Silver name QB of a big team, chances are it will sell for 2500 or more. EJ Manual is very rare and sells for 4500.

I need to go through my bronze and silver players and do some sorting. I've been in a bad habit of quick selling guys if I have duplicates but have ceased doing that since the duos came out.
