Football Manager 2014 News & Discussion Thread

With the announcement of FM 2014, I figured it would be a good time to start a thread to compile and discuss any news and information about the game.

You can find a rundown of some of the new features here:

Those on Twitter can follow @milesSI He's revealing a new feature every weekday. Today's: Testimonial matches. Outside of that, he's an entertaining follow and does interact with fans of the game.

Between this and GTA5 I'll be set for the next several months.

Awesome. In your tactic it appears that you set the role by player in a position. No more fiddling around with tactics when you make a sub or rotate players into the starting lineup.

That is a MASSIVE feature. I hate having to swap player roles every time I put my B team on the pitch.

You guys switch roles that much? Interesting. I've always been a "system guy," ie. fit players into my system rather than building a system around players, as I feel it helps me stay structured.

a player can still fit the system without having the exact same role though - some players might be more suited to the anchor man role as opposed to a defensive minded playmaker or a defensive midfielder set to defensive

they are all pretty much playing the same role needed in the system, but in slightly different ways to compliment their individual ability (e.g. Mikel vs. Makelele for Chelsea)
