When the old USFL was in existence once upon a time, there were a few team names I always liked...

San Antionio Gunslingers
Houston Gamblers
Arizona Wranglers
Tampa Bay Bandits

Too bad these will never be available.

The huskies sound like a high school team name. The thunderbirds actually dont sound to bad I guess it will come down to the unis and fan %

Alas, if they had just let us name the teams ourselves, and had the voice announcers just spend 20 minutes saying a bunch of random team name nouns, the problem would be solved...

I don't mind the way they did it to an extent. They did research on the team names but obviously did not do enough. I was really looking forward to the Houston Stallions... but it's not included. The Texans won out over the Apollos and Stallions.

Personally I hate the Texans name for a Houston team. The Texans played in Dallas originally. Then there was an Arena League team in Dallas named the Texans so that name has always had a Dallas tie.
