NBA 2K14 Hands-On Preview (Dime Magazine)

Dime Magazine has posted their NBA 2K14 hands-on preview.

The block system has been completely revamped for NBA 2K14 with improved ball targeting and awareness, more realistic physics, and more responsive control. At one point, we were playing Andrea Bargnani, who recovered towards the rim and blocked LeBron James. That might be the only time you read a sentence like that, so savor it Knicks fans.

I REALLY hope this is player introductions!

"Jadakiss blared for the New Orleans Pelicans introductions at the beginning of the second game we tried. Those introductions are pretty cool, and definitely make you feel like you’re about to watch a spectacle despite it being on quick game mode without some of the more advanced features."

Re: NBA 2K14 Hands-On Preview (Dime Magazine)

i feel like this is a stupid question but i couldn't find the answer:

did 2k say when ps4/xbone 2k14 will be released? is it a console release title? because if ps4 drops nov 15th then i might possibly be able to wait a month.

other than that, i am excited. bummed i'm not hearing much about myplayer/association changes but i'm hoping next gen will have those since

"Both current gen and next-gen will be unique, distinct, and independent from each other."
i will always be in favor of more solid gameplay enhancements vs new features/modes. take my money!

I know 2k14 will be a release title on ps4, so I assume it will be for Xbone as well

Yes, 2K14 will be launch day titles for both consoles.

Is it just me or is it really hard to see what they are talking about (in this hands on preview) in the Gamescom gameplay vids?

There may be a reason why (Gamescom is an early build etc) - if that's the case, great..... if not, I must be missing something when I watch them....

The hands on impressions are all terrific reads, very encouraging. Then I watch the vids and we get Danny Green driving without a worry or any sort of contact, no pick and roll rotating defenses, the same spacing as 2K13 at a quick glance.....

Again, if those vids are early builds, I hope someone corrects me....haha..... then I can sleep at night again.....

Enhanced dribbler vs. on-ball defender contact – Defenders can now initiate steals, hard bumps, and charges out of defensive rides, making locking up players on defense a much more engaging experience. We didn’t score for the first minute going against one of the 2K reps because it took a little geting used to
this sounds like it could potentially be a charge spammer's dream

While attempting to split double-team off a pick-and-roll, Jrue Holiday got tripped up, and it looked incredibly authentic as he stumbled forward before the whistle blew.
Not going to lie when I saw "split" and "pick and roll" in the same sentence, I got excited, then I saw "double team"

I dont trust hands-ons. I only believe in my eyes and in what they saw in the vids
