1080i or 1080p? I was always under the impression that 1080p was better.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

Re: Which HD setting is the best to play Madden 25 ?
I am under the strong impression that this is untrue. Madden does not truly support 1080 afaik, so the game looks jagged if you try to force it.
This topic/thread has been brought up frequently in the past and the verdict was always 720.Comment

1080p
It depends on the TV and its refresh rate.
Personally, I use a 24 inch Acer gaming monitor and Madden 25 looks very nice.
720p is so 2005.lolComment

Re: Which HD setting is the best to play Madden 25 ?
This is the first thread I've seen addressing this problem. I've looked for threads trying to find help, but no luck, so I'll ask here. I'm sorry!
I have a 40' Samsung LED tv (Hell, here's the link http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+...&skuId=4833574)
When I play my Xbox 360, I have about a half-second to a full second of lagtime on that TV, but zero lagtime on my old box tv. Now, I realize a lot of this is because I am currently connecting my Xbox to the big screen with the cords that came with it (No HDMI cables, no nothing. I'm talking Red, Yellow, White cables), but I am clueless as to what cables I should use, what settings I should put on, that whole bit. Would any one of you guys be kind enough to give me a few words of wisdom?————————————

Enable "game mode" on the TV see if that helps. Also switch the TV to Dynamic if it is on standard or switch it to standard if it is on Dynamic, let me know how that works out for you, And who said 1080i is better than 1080p? lol 1080p is the best setting.Comment

Re: Which HD setting is the best to play Madden 25 ?
The lag you get is mostly from it being a LCD.. Liquid crystal just can't move as quickly on larger screens.. Same for LED's since its still a LCD panel. I'd refrain from using dynamic or game modes as well.. These arbitrary settings aren't great for everyone.. Movie mode or something similar would be best.. Resolution wise.. I always say 720p because that's what majority of games are developed in.. Very few are done in true 1080p.. The console then has to upscale the res, adding lines that were never there or multiplying lines to fill the gap. This could contribute to lag as well as an unnatural look to your picture. Now if the game states it was developed in 720p like MLB the show, then run it at that.. Older tube tv's didn't have lag issues because they are completely different than what we have now.. The tubes in a CRT can display images quicker than what it takes liquid crystal to move and change colors.Last edited by Birdman18; 08-27-2013, 03:42 AM.Comment

Pretty sure MLB The Show is meant to play on 720p. It even has a warning on the start up screen. I would venture to say that his question about resolution may be derived from that actually. It is he first place I had ever heard of the issue. The lag you get is mostly from it being a LCD.. Liquid crystal just can't move as quickly on larger screens..
