What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
I know we will get better graphics that lead to better animations, but do you think there will be other features not on the current version to expect, or features that you think should be added to the next-gen version?Tags: None -
Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
For me, no, not this first year. Not in terms of modes or traditional features, anyway.
Upgraded presentation to go along with the improved graphics would be nice. -
Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
It probably doesn't have anything to do with the thread but I hope if we purchase NBA 2k14 for the current gen, we will be able get the next gen version way cheaper, it would be a detail (others companies like EA will do something like that with Fifa 14 and other games)...
Back on topic, I expect better graphics, animations, AI and physics, definitely a much better sim experience, a game almost without exploits and where you have to play basketball (and no videogames) to success. Am I asking for to much?
Cheers! ;-)Last edited by Guard-ian; 08-28-2013, 10:06 AM.Ignorance is Bliss...Comment

Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
I agree with your first paragraph, and knowing 2K they most likely will follow suit with a cheaper upgrade. Your second paragraph is music to my ears! Perfect! 2K did say to expect a totally different experience on next-gen, so let's hope it's great! It probably doesn't have anything to do with the thread but I hope if we purchase NBA 2k14 for the current gen, we will be able get the next gen version way cheaper, it would be a detail (others companys like EA will do something like that with Fifa 14 and other games)...

Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
Player movement will most likely be much better than current gen and contact for some reason I'm assuming will be better.
I think it'll be a bigger gameplay leap than a lot of people think. They had a whole team working on it.ARE YOU LOOKING FOR YOUTUBE CHANNELS DEDICATED TO THE SIM COMMUNITY CLICK THE LINKS BELOW, AND SUBSCRIBE FOR ALL SIM CONTENT.

Tbh I expect the next gen version to be a lot more arcade than the current gen's version. It probably doesn't have anything to do with the thread but I hope if we purchase NBA 2k14 for the current gen, we will be able get the next gen version way cheaper, it would be a detail (others companies like EA will do something like that with Fifa 14 and other games)...

Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
Really? I hope your wrong, I would skip over a more arcade game, however I will purchuse it if it's a better sim experience...
On the other hand, I think 1080p with 60fps is a must in the next gen games.

Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
I shoudn't say a lot more but I expect it to be more casual oriented... I don't know I thought about that the other day and I think it makes sense that they try to reach to most gamers on a new console.
Maybe awesome graphics are enough to accomplish that though.Comment

Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
I hope for better AI, graphics, animations, higher FPS, etc.
The next-gen trailer that was shown was pre-alpha and I thought it looked great. So if they can hit that on final hardware, then I think I would be pretty happy.
I'm going to purchase the next-gen version. However, if classic teams aren't included, I'll wait till' next year.
To be able to play as the 91' Bulls with next-gen hardware will be amazing.Comment

Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
I'm not expecting much considering what we got from Madden, 2k, Live in '06...that first year is always a transition...
I don't expect to be wowed this first year..Comment

Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
It is, however, very possible that the game developers have learned from that experience and have focused on next-gen a lot more. I believe this will be the case this time around.Comment

Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
I don't think they can invest too much time/money for a game that releases on a new console. I don't know how many consoles they expect to be sold the first year... I think it's all about that.Comment

Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
My expectations are very high for next-gen
- Adjustable AI that could be impacted in association. Say you run simlar plays earlier in the season the CPU knows what type of plays you like to run and come prepared based off what they saw earlier in the season.
- Signature everything, dribbles, shot and mannerisms, player communication, emotion
- Player movement physics/system/tech that is even better than current gen. I am expecting the CPU to have to guess wrong on a rebound or double team.
- More random play basketball can get sloppy at times. The ball needs to be "live" to account for this.
- Better attributes and ratings
- More in depth defensive settings. Say if you want to play fullcourt press with only one player you should have the option to do so.
- Dynamic fatigue for using players too much full court.
- More emotion expressed probably with the ability to be user controlled or impacted. Say if I hit a three under a minute to tie the game I want to express it somehow.
- Downloadable player VIP- say you wanted to play against your friends VIP and it plays how he plays with certain teams. So a more human CPU if you choose to.
- Better create a player. I mean the Xbox one comes with a Kinect, should be able to get better user face from a camera as an option.
- Crowd noise, sound participation. The crowd should respond with ooh's and ahh's for ankle breakers as well as commentators. Sound on the level of NBA Live 10 but better. They should be able to boo teams/players
- Personal battles and rivalries/game within the game. Certain teams/players don't like each other and you should be able to see it, by physical play and hard fouls, feel it from the fans, boos and etc. Perhaps even double fouls.
- Smarter team trades and roster moves in association.
- Deeper myplayer probably should have space to actually do more things off the court like Cribs
- Better jersey length, fits, wingspan/models. They can't get the long wingspan guys right on current gen.

Re: What to expect from NBA 2K14 Next-gen?
Gameplay will be a straight port....with better graphics and sounds....so basically it's just an upgraded version of the current gen.
Much like 2k6 when it jumped to 360 I will be getting 2k14 for next gen....Comment
