Player progression not carrying over to next season???
Not sure if you guys are experiencing the same thing but let me explain. There's some guys on my team that are somewhat young, and at the beggining of every season they start with the same rating as the year before as if I never progressed them. For example, Danny amendola starts at a 78 overall. I progress and go through practices all season long. He ends up being an 82 overall by end of season. After offseason stuff I go into preseason week 1 and then go look at my depth chart, he's back to a 78 overall?? WTF! He had 70 something catches the season before and at least 5 or 6 TDs. This had happened twice now. Is their something new with EAs progression system or is this another typical glitch? This also happened with a free agent I signed Sean lee MLB. He was an 82, had 90 tackles, solid season, got him up to a 85 overall, started next season and he's back to an 82??? C'mon maaaan!!!!Tags: None -
Re: Player progression not carrying over to next season???
I just noticed that on my raiders franchise. Sio Moore was at an 86 after year one. Beginning of next season he was down to a 79...

Re: Player progression not carrying over to next season???
how old are they? madden changed how regression works with older players... also injuries have a longer effect on ovr ratings... ie amendola was out for season last year (if im not mistaken)I used to put important things hereComment

Re: Player progression not carrying over to next season???
Amendola is in his 6th year and Lee is going into his 4th year
far too early to be regressing players IMO. Lee should be hitting his prime in his 4th year, not losing traction.
Although you do have to take into account if your schemes changed. Except from what I experience even when you change your schemes it doesn't even change your players overalls like it is supposed to anywayComment

Re: Player progression not carrying over to next season???
I know in Madden 13 online CCM, their overalls in the depth chart screen were the old ones, but in the roster screen, they were the correct (new) ones. Maybe it's still the same in this game.Comment

If regression really has become this 'strong', then it will make the management aspect quite interesting this yearKansas City Chiefs Online CCM series: http://www.youtube.com/nicolaslComment

Re: Player progression not carrying over to next season???
This is not a good thing. This pretty much makes the game unplayable for me. There is really no real purpose in drafting rookies since you cant really make them any better. They are who they are when they enter the league and by the next season they get reset to default.Comment

Re: Player progression not carrying over to next season???
For some reason the overalls do seem to reset once you get into the regular season each year. The actual ratings that have progressed are still correct, though. During gameplay, the depth chart should reflect their 'actual' overall.Prototype Supreme

Re: Player progression not carrying over to next season???
Is nobody else having a problem with this??
All of my players have reverted after season one, back to where they were. I had raised Tavon Austin's CTH to 85 by the end of the season and he was my best WR. Beginning of season 2, in preseason, his CTH is back down to 77. This shows up in Player Management, the regular Depth Chart, and the in-game Depth Chart.
Doesn't this defeat the purpose of Connected Careers entirely?? I just wasted an entire season and none of my young players have anything to show for it. The experience is just gone, as far as I can tell.
Edit:
Hold up, its possible that it IS correct in the in-game depth chart, I just checked and Tavon Austin is actually on a Cold Streak. Could that be why his CTH is down to a 77, and its just a coincidence that that's the one attribute I poured EXP points into??
I'll check after I sim through the preseason, he should be out of his Cold Streak by then.
EDIT 2:
Nope, just checked, he's no longer in a Cold Streak and his CTH is back down to a 77 in every single menu, including the in-game Depth Chart.
I'm seriously pissed right now. What is the point of this mode??Last edited by ConnSKINS26; 09-10-2013, 08:58 PM.Comment

Re: Player progression not carrying over to next season???
As far as the overalls go, I've noticed players' Production grades dropping down to random, sometimes very low values early the following season after they were in the 90s the year before, which drops their Overall a few points. I haven't NOTICED actual ratings reverting though. Doesn't mean it might not be happening in places, though.Comment

Re: Player progression not carrying over to next season???
Guys relax, it's supposed to be like this. Josh Looman even confirmed this on Twitter (which you can see for yourself HERE.
The season progression is happening because the player(s) are overachieving that year with the game taking that into mind and giving then a temporary boost for as long as they do well and/or till that off-season before resetting back to the actual ratings.
The ratings you actually increase yourself with XP are the permanent ones because you've earned them with that years performance.
I actually like that idea because if the temporary ones stayed, we may have many 90+ ovr guys come year 2-3 and far more 99 overall players.Comment
