NHL14 Impression on offline season mode
 

After reading some of the comments here and on EA NHL 14 forum. It seems that people that play offline season mode have more positive experience then others. (with the some of the noticable issues - BIP music).

So for those that play that way....offline season mode....

What are your impressions. I usually get the game each year,,,hardcore fan and enjoy the AI games I play against even with glitches as I learn to compensate through slider controls.

Is the game fun...(to me $60.00 is not a factor).

this is the only mode i play unless im playing my friends online.

im playing on all-star with hardcore simulation.
im 3-3-1 which is awesome, i dont like winning every game. HOWEVER.

i hate outshooting the CPU 30-7, and losing 4-0. all of my losses have been like this. the CPU "KNOWS" quality scoring opportunities and goes for them every shot.

they'll stand in the slot to a point where the goalie will be aggressive and jump out, they'll shoot blocker side top shelf EVERY SHOT or blocker side low, to generate a perfect kicked out rebound to their player and score.

i hope this gets patched quick. im really sick of calling every goal scored on me. i literally know when each goal will go in because of where the CPU goes. they barely shoot from the point. its very predictable, and easy to defend, but they still score on over 50% of their shots. my poor goalies save % is just ruined.

IMO its nhl 13, all over again since the AI did the same thing in that game. frustrating.

Use the slider guides above to fix that issue. I'm using the sim sliders and adjusting a bit to fit my play style. I'm getting good results.

I've experienced the same thing. When the CPU wants to score it will. I had a player basically walk through my entire defense, perform some unrealistic move and still have time (with defense on him as well) to score. Just like the past versions, you can call it when the CPU will score.

One think I adjusted in 2013 and you may want to try if you havent...I really lowering the shot accuracy and shot power.

For both AI and Me, I have the slider at 1 for power and 2 for accuracy. This may need to adjust for 2014 if the upped the AI. The goalie slider is at 2 or 3. Slap shots are 1 for accuracy and 3 for power.

Before I had the shot and power at 4 and goalie a 4 or 5....but since lowering all, the goals have come down. Of course there are many other factors such as what the sliders are for AI gameplay, CPU and so on....

I got this pretty good ins 2013, so I hope these sliders work in 2014...as I did enjoy 2013 even with all the other criticizam...I hope to enjoy 2014 as well.

I have a concern on the fighting after hits. I don't want to fight after every big hit...so I hope the sliders will tone ths down...:boxing:

You just described how every NHL game the last two generations has played for me. It's one reason why I control every team in season mode - keeps the goalie stats fair for everyone.

It pretty much has to be this way though. You'd eventually dominate the CPU on every difficulty if it didn't "cheat".

its the same as last years game.
only difference is the sim speed on ps3 is a little faster, which is good.
not sure if the stats are better or not. ive only played 3 games.
still pissed its 2013 and they dont have boxscores for the completed games on the calendar.
