I'm on the fence about NHL 14.......help me out guys.

I get every major sport's annual sports title. But hockey is probably my least favorite sport. I haven't skipped a new sports title since I can remember.

I've read some good things about NHL 14. But from what I read, its mostly about big hits and fights. I know the gameplay is a little better too. But I liked the gameplay to start with so I'm good there.

Totally disappointed that the presentation was pretty much untouched. So basically I'm feeling like I'd be buying a new hockey game just to see cool fights.

These other games are stepping way up and next-gen is around the corner.

Is it worth a new buy guys? For someone that's a casual fan anyway?

Meh, unless you LOVED 13 to death and couldn't go a day without playing it.... 14 isn't anything special IMHO.
Been playing the series forever, but just feel it had fallen flat over the last 2-3 yrs.

I'm in the same boat. I really like the series but feel there just hasn't been enough improvements over the last couple years to warrant a purchase this year. I really like the online or connected franchise modes but knowing they left that mode untouched really shows me EA is resting on it's laurels and not doing what they can to make the best possible game for their loyal supporters. I'm about 80% sure I'm going to forgo this years game and apply the $60 to GTA V.

I returned my for full store credit today. Just put the money towards GTA.

this game had done nothing for me these last 3 yrs. hockey is my second favorite sport and this game literally bores me to sleep.

Somehow, in spite of EA's failure to improve where improvements should be concentrated on (presentations, AI logics, etc.), i am struggling if I am going to give in and buy this product or not. So far, most of the comments are mixed...but I think I'm going to save my $60 to another game coming out in PS4.

Haven't really played any since 11, bought it and all I can say is where is my patch? No day 1 patch got me worried and that was just cause. Somethings cant be patched like Season length can't be changed which sucks. If I play every game then I'd get sick of it by the playoffs, this isn't Madden or NBA for some reason I just can't play all of them.

Anyway what can be patched is the awful A.I. The opponent A.I is great while your teammates are idiots. They will no go for pucks, will skate past them and continue up ice while opponent has a wide open shot. Since I never played last year, unless I need to practice with the new skating the A.I is way to fast. Had to turn up player acceleration for myself and down for them because every icing they were either ahead or RIGHT behind me waiting to scoop it up and shoot.

the game is tired.. Time for the next-gen leap, bring on NHL 15 imo.

I just can't see myself giving them $65 for this. They should've lowered the price since there was not much changed. Disappointing, but it's not my fault. Redbox messed up my plans of renting it by not even carrying it. Too bad you cant return games anymore. Now, if I can find someone to give me $30-$40 then I can see paying the rest, but until then I can wait for Black Friday sales.
