Which positions progress which skills faster than others?

Has anybody experimented with this? If not, I am going to sim some seasons and pay attention to which skills progress faster than others depending on the player's position.

if you are planning on doing this then switching the players back to some other position, realize that every switch you make causes a loss in awareness. So for example, if you move a CB to SS one year then back to CB, will take 2 awareness hits, and probably be like -30AWR or so.

Yeah, I hear ya. That's not what I'm doing, though.

I'm basically just tracking a bunch of players at different positions and seeing which attributes progress faster at different positions. I'm also tracking different "types". For instance, seeing if a pocket passer's throw ratings progress faster than a scrambler.

Am looking only at QBs this first time through. Will have results posted tonight.

Interesting findings to start off...

1. Huge jumps in AWR when your guy becomes #1 on depth chart. Progress is usually about 4-6 per season, but when he becomes the starter, you get around 20.

2. Caliber of team seems to not have any effect on progression like in previous years. A 75 OVR on Buffalo will progress the same as a 75 on Texas.

3. All QBs progress by 1 in all base categories plus all running categories and THP (with exceptions below)

4. Balanced QBs do not progress in CARRY, but progress by 1 THP and around 4 THA each year.

5. Pocket Passers do not progress in SPD, AGI or CAR but progress about a point higher in THA than Balanced QBs.

6. Scrambling QBs are the only QBs that progress in CAR and JUMP. They also progress double in BTK, but only progress about 3 in THA.

I'm interested to see what else I find with the other positions.

HBs progress differently as well.

All types of HB get 1 SPD, 1 STR, 1 AGI, 3 ACC, 3 SPM, 3 JUK, 1 CTH, 1 SPC, 1 CIT, 1 RTE, 1 BSH, 1 RLS and 1 PBK.

BTK: Power backs get 7, Speed gets 4-5.
TRK: Power gets 4, Speed gets 2
ELU: Power gets 3, Speed gets 4
BCV: Power gets 6, Speed gets 4-5
SFA: Power gets 4, Speed gets 2-3
CAR: Power gets 5, Speed gets 4

Power backs also get +2 to RBK and IMP. Speed gets nothing.

Looks like power backs have a distinct advantage in progression.

WRs

All WRs get +1 STR, AGI, SFA, JKM, CAR; +2 BTK, ELU, BCV

SPD: Possession gets none, others get +1
ACC: Speed gets +3, others get +2
TRK: Speed gets +1, others get +2
SPM: Speed gets +1, others get +2
CTH and CIT: Possession gets +5, Balanced +4, Speed +3
SPC, RTE and RLS: Possession and Balanced get +4, Speed +3
JMP: Possession gets +1

RBK: Possession and Balanced +1
IBL: Possession +2, Balanced +1

Given the problems people are having with speed threshold, it would seem recruiting speed WRs is pointless.

Interesting, didn't realize the schools caliber doesn't do anything to progression.
