What made 2k11 such a great game?
 

I would like to know why this game gets so much high praise? And why is it your favorite NBA 2k game?

It was a combination of great things happening at once:

The game finally had tighter controls. Shooting felt smoother, dribbling was actually controllable, the game overall felt fun and challenging.
My player got the first improvements.
Jordan returned along with a unique game mode.
Classic teams for the first time ever.

i think Jordan being on the cover and having the Jordan challange and classic teams in the game made it great. But after you got pass that the actual gameplay was smooth and responsive from what I can remember. It was also a challanging game which I loved. It was the first 2k game I didnt really want to stop playing once the new version came out.

No offense but I'd find stupid if someone tells me that a game is great because of a cover. To me its just a piece of paper.

2k11 was not a better game than 2k13. people just keep saying it was better because it was a big jump after 2k10.

Naw part that year was the cover , it's freaking MJ . How many NBA games can you name with the GOAT on the cover and in the game ? It's a classic

2k11 is a better game than 2k13 , 2k13 just had more animations.
