Week 4: Philadelphia Eagles (1-2) @ Denver Broncos (3-0)

The Eagles defense has to play better to give them a chance. Their offense is very good, when they don't turn it over. The Broncos meanwhile, are similar to last year's Patriots. Their defense is pretty bad, but they survive with a very high powered offense led by a future HOF QB.

Expect a shootout here.

Broncos 38, Eagles 24

The Broncos defense is actually pretty good, what are you talking about?

Eagles pretty much have no chance. That's all I have to say about this game. How can you bet against Peyton Manning right now?

This game will be a good test of the conditioning of the Eagles. Running that offense at that altitude.

He himself doesn't know what he's talking about most of the time.

Denver's main issue on defense is pressure.

Denver's defense gives up a lot of points. That's all it comes down to. The Ravens scored 27 off them, the Giants scored 23, and the Raiders scored 21. They have also allowed their fair share of big plays. Last night, the Raiders had that 70 yard passing play for a TD. That shouldn't happen against a team like the Raiders, who have an unexperienced QB and only 1 somewhat good WR.

The other side to this is that the Broncos are ahead in each game by the time 4th hits where its prevent defense. 30-14 in the 3rd quarter vs Raiders. 35-17 vs Ravens. The Giants game was closer but it never felt out of control.

They lead the league in interceptions without their #1 corner. They're middle of the pack with sacks without their #1 sack producer. The defense right now is allowing 2.3 yards a carry, 43 yards averaged a game. 57 rushes/142 passes. Teams are airing it out because they're being forced to play catch up.

This. Context means everything in analyzing defenses. That Denver defense is pretty damn good. They may give up points in garbage time, but that's when the defense is very basic and just trying not to mess up. That rushing stat is very telling, and the fact that teams have to throw a ton and abandon the run to catch up is telling too.
