Alley Oop Isomotion?
Is it possible to do an alley oop with the isomotion/shot controls in 2k14? I've seen others ask but it seems like nobody knows.Tags: None -
Re: Alley Oop Isomotion?
From what I'm reading u can't so I was force to learn the new controls an they arent that bad just remember to tap the right stick an don't hold it in a direction because that will make u shoot it before ur ready. .tapping it in different directions will will do different movesComment

Re: Alley Oop Isomotion?
I tried shots/isomotion as well but did not want to go without the oops or flashy passes. This scheme was in last years game but youd be surprised how many idiots said i dont like holding the trigger to shoot so I use x now which gives me even less control. no one was forced to hold the l trigger to shoot and no one was forced to press x either last year, they did it because they were not smart enough to check the options. I like holding L to dribble then let go and take my shot when needed last year but this year I like the new scheme but the old ones should be patched.Comment

Re: Alley Oop Isomotion?
Any update on this?
I haven't been able to throw alley oops for weeks,, and I think I just figured out that it was because I changed the isomotion control settings from the default.
Is there any way around this glitch? I hate using the shot stick because it randomly shoots sometimes when I'm just trying to use the isomotion function.Comment

Re: Alley Oop Isomotion?
Just learn the new controls, they're really not that different. I prefer this than last year. However, the hop step on circle is the only thing I miss.Comment

Re: Alley Oop Isomotion?
I know the controls, I just prefer not to use the shot stick to shoot. Personal preference, hence why I was asking if anyone had discovered a workaround for itComment

Re: Alley Oop Isomotion?
I know this probably wont help but, I was in a scrimmage Knicks vs. Spurs using these controls. On a fast break with Carmelo, my fingers slipped up when I tried to quick press RB + B an Melo threw an oop to Tim Hardaway Jr. The same thing happend to me with Iggy to Klay Thompson. It seems as if its possible, but when ever I tried to re-create what buttons I've pressed, it just doesnt work. I believe what it was was something close to RB+Y+B. Once again I'm not sure, but I've done it by accident. You Look Good, You Feel Good. You Feel Good, You Play Good. You Play Good, They Pay Good. - Deion Sanders

Re: Alley Oop Isomotion?
I predominately use square or x to shoot anyways. The right stick is really only useful when driving the lane.Comment

Re: Alley Oop Isomotion?
Part of why the whole thing is annoying.
I can use the shot stikc, but I prefer using square to shoot and the right stick to drive.
But disabling shooting on the right stick prevents me from throwing alley oops, hence the whole frustration..

Re: Alley Oop Isomotion?
Ah right. You can't throw alley-oops with Isomotion. That's game makers decision LOL.
I know normally you can throw alley-oop with Right Stick on default with LT+X, but... LT+X on Iso/Shots or Shots/Iso is shooting/dribbling switch LOL.
Crazy stuff

Re: Alley Oop Isomotion?
There's a way to do because I've done it on accident about 3 times. We just need the devs to tell us what it is since it's not in the controller listYou Look Good, You Feel Good. You Feel Good, You Play Good. You Play Good, They Pay Good. - Deion Sanders

Re: Alley Oop Isomotion?
Sorry to say that, but what you pulled off looks more like RB+ pass = icon pass stuff than actual alley oop.
From lead game designer:
You cannot do it with iso/shot mode. Funny thing is, he mentioned a patch to address the iissue, but PC is still without it (still 1.0.0 version of the game). Worse than KONAMI in that aspect :P.Alley-oops cannot be triggered when you switch Pro Stick control to 2k13 settings. It's an issue that we will need to address in a patch. Sorry.
For those who have decided to switch back to last year's Pro Stick controls, my advice would be to give the default controls a chance. We'll try to keep supporting the legacy controls but I can't promise they'll be around forever. My YouTube Channel - Go and check it out ;)Comment
