Unable to connect to 2k sports servers - NBA 2K14 PS3

Why does NBA 2K14 keep saying this? My internet connection is fine, it just won't let me do anything on 2k14. I can't even play MyCareer. It won't show VC on the bottom, and when I go online, it goes to menu, but I can't actually play anything.

Okay, at least I know I'm not the only one. 2k really needs to fix these damn servers. Why should it even affect offline play at all? All I want to do is play some MyCareer, but all it does is say that its validating the myplayer, and it ends up doing it forever

I think LD2k said that it has to do with the new Laker jerseys being put in.

Or a patch, with details to come.

Begs the question of why they'd need to disconnect us for that...

If I turn off my console and turn it back on and servers are back, will it give me the vc i was supposed to earn?

yes I was playing a MyTeam game. Servers came back for like 2 seconds. I got my 629 vc for winning the game

It is ridiculous 2k is unprepared for these server overloads on a Friday night. Most people only play on weekend nights and this is when you normally cannot play.

What is more ridiculous is because we have VC that we cannot play mycareer, my team, or earn any VC at the moment.

I played a blacktop game just now and got the vc for it but tried to access mycareer right after and still doesnt work.
