Intro:
This will be my second attempt at a dynasty here on OS. Decided to so with the Chargers and do a complete rebuild of the roster. I enjoy building teams instead of having a real good team or a middle of the road team. I'd rather start from the bottom of the pole. Below will be some house rules i found online for Madden franchises. Hope you enjoy.
Settings:
Game: Madden 25
Console: 360
Difficulty: Charter04's OS sliders
Quarter Length: 12 mins
Gameplay Speed: Normal
Rosters: EA Week 3 Update
Draft Classes: NCAA 14: 2014, 2015 & 2016
Simming: Only preseason for year one.
House Rules:
Preseason Rules:
- I can have up to a 75-man roster from the start of the free-agency to the preseason.
- Cut down to a 53-man roster at the completion of the preseason - includes emergency quarterback.
- Free Agents can only be signed to replace a released player if their OVR rating is lower than that of the lowest rated player at said position. These players must also be signed to a 1-year contract to simulate tendencies of a real organization. (i.e. Release a 70 OVR WR, only a 69 OVR WR or lower may be signed)
Regular Season Rules:
- A 47-man active roster will be kept to simulate the real life active gameday roster that NFL teams must have (47 active, 6 not active/scratched). IRL this is a 45-man gameday roster with 8 INACTIVE. However, due to the roster restrictions that have plagued Madden for years, I am allowing myself to use a 47-man roster on gameday. ALL INACTIVES will still be on the roster, but, I will go in and remove them from the depth chart to make sure they are not auto-subbed into the game.
- Emergency quarterback rules apply. The #3 quarterback can enter at any time, however, once he enters, the other quarterbacks on the roster may not replace him until the fourth quarter of the same game or unless injury permits to simulate actual NFL rules.
- Same free-agent rules from above apply to injured players and IR players. Free-Agents signed must be signed to 1-year contracts and may not be rated higher than the lowest rated player at said position
Off-Season Rules:
- I must use the franchise tag on one player per off-season
- I may not use the franchise tag on the same player in consecutive seasons
- If a player is franchised, he must be allowed to hit the free-agent market in the off-season where I will have to compete with other teams to sign him
- I may re-sign a player to a contract extension during the season, however, said player must receive an offer that is a 30% increase in their initial salary request and the contract must be for a minimum of 4-years
- A player in the free-agent market that is considered an upgrade due to a higher OVR may only be signed during this free-agency period
- Any player that has a 90 OVR during this signing period must be offered a contract offer 50% greater than what is being asked for on the open market. This 50% can be in the form of total contract value OR as the signing bonus.
