1 Second left in the game...Can't call a TO
I was down 1 TD, and I had 2 time outs left, with 1 second on the clock on and was tackled at the 1 yard line...The game wouldn't let me call a time out...so I ended up losing the game...Why wouldn't it let me? Is there a rule for clock run off, or is this a glitch in the game?

Re: 1 Second left in the game...Can't call a TO
I don't know if this is it but according to the new rules you must have 3 seconds on the clock to run a play. -

Why do people post completely inaccurate information, passing it off as fact?
You must have 3 seconds on the clock to SPIKE THE BALL. You can call a timeout or run a play with 1 or 2 seconds.Comment

Re: 1 Second left in the game...Can't call a TO
I've had the happen on multiple occasions ( not the exact scenario) where I have had timeouts but for whatever reason the game wouldn't let me call them with the button. It would let me win the menu however. Looks to be a random glitch.I was down 1 TD, and I had 2 time outs left, with 1 second on the clock on and was tackled at the 1 yard line...The game wouldn't let me call a time out...so I ended up losing the game...Why wouldn't it let me? Is there a rule for clock run off, or is this a glitch in the game?

Re: 1 Second left in the game...Can't call a TO
I have had that happen to me before. I got tackled with 4 seconds left and I kept pressing the Time Out button but it wouldn't call a timeout so I pressed pause with 1 sec left and selected time out from the menu and it gave me the timeout. Ever since then, if it is under 30 seconds I automatically press pause and call a timeout from that screen. I don't have an explanation as to why it happens other than it is a glitch.Comment

Re: 1 Second left in the game...Can't call a TO
I do the exact same thing, I have had that happen once and ever since then I do the pause & timeout as well.I have had that happen to me before. I don't have an explanation as to why it happens other than it is a glitch.
I'm wondering if behind the scenes the game clock is actually at like 0.1-0.4 seconds and the logic of the game clock rounds down to 0 seconds remaining even though it displays 1 full second left, thus not allowing the user to call timeout. Seems odd it would do that but with EA you never know...Comment

Re: 1 Second left in the game...Can't call a TO
Right after I saw this thread, I played a game where I had gotten a first down with one second left in the half and was trying to call a timeout and it actually didn't even let me do it in the pause menu. I hit select over and over, and then before getting set went to the pause menu and the timeout button was grayed out.I have had that happen to me before. I don't have an explanation as to why it happens other than it is a glitch.
Wasn't an issue for that particular game, but thought it was really strange.Red Wolves | Broncos | Cubs | Grizzlies | Predators | Liverpool FC | Sporting KCComment

Re: 1 Second left in the game...Can't call a TO
Maybe you weren't considered "down" yet? For example, after a play I'll sometimes want to see the replay, but it won't allow me to select replay yet. I go back to the game, allow a second or two to go by & then I can select replay at that point. Maybe a similar situation?Florida State SeminolesComment
