    Adrian Peterson decline...

So I can trade for Adrian Peterson for relatively cheap, and I was wondering if anyone that uses the Vikings in a CFM or drafted him in a fantasy draft can tell me how quickly he declines?

He's 30 in my current CFM, and he has three years left on his contract. However, I'm worried he's going to sharply decline after I get him, especially since it's relatively cheap for me to attain him.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

In mine at 31 he was a free agent at 81 overall. His speed was 86 I think.

He retired at age 34 in my CCM, having been cut by the Vikes at 32. He spent one year not playing and then spent a year with other team.

In my cfm I never had him but I know he ended up the all time leading rusher with somewhere around 24000 yards.

In mine, he stayed strong a few years, but got cut in preseason a few years, so i picked him up (i forgot at what age, prolly 32 though). Since i had trent richardson, i really didnt have much need, but he was a good 89 overall 3down back + backup for trent when he got tired. Next year, he lost 5 overall. Its a pretty rapid decrease, but then again, he got very few touches. Anyways, it's worth picking him up if hes cheap (i think i payed him 1.5 or 2m a year, with 1 year contracts). Hes still a good truck with good speed when hes older. Never hurts having a veteran back coming in fresh on 3rd down

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm going to bite the bullet and make the trade.

He's still a 97 at 30, and I plan on making him my workhorse. He's going to rack up a ton of yards and touchdowns, so I hope that helps stave off his decline for the remaining 3 years on his contract (surprisingly, none of which is guaranteed). I have Eddie Lacy and LaMichael James behind him locked into long-term deals, so I'm not worried if he suddenly sharply declines.

If you don't have a good backfield, a declining AP will still do wonders. I was able to pick him up at age 32 for the Chargers and let go of Mathews, running game improved from 1,200 to 1,800 plus a handful more of TD's.

3 games in, and I can safely say the trade was easily worth it. Even if he begins to decline next year, I can't imagine that it'll be sharp enough that he loses that much effectiveness. He's absolutely ridiculous in this game.

i'm in year 3 of my ccm and in the offseason i was able to trade for Peterson. After about 5 games i have already regretted trading for him. He was hurt for two games and in the 3 that he had played he isn't very affective for me at all.

Even if he slows down, his Trucking, stiff arm and all his other attributes should still be really high. I would say pick him up, if you can, and maybe try and break the all time rushing record with him.
